  INSTITUTE OF PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TRANING SRI LANKA ::
 

IPSOTSL is a prestigious institute of Sri Lanka dedicated to    training of peacekeepers for employment in all types of UNPSO (UN   Peace Support Operations). This institute fulfils the requirement   of UNDPKO as per General Assembly resolution which outlines 'the   necessity and responsibility of every nation to train their armed forces   before any deployment under the flag of United Nations.

 

 
 
THE VISIT OF HIS EXCELLENCY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER OF PAKISTAN TO THE INSTITUTE OF PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TRAINING SRI LANKA ON 11 FEBRUARY 2019

The High Commissioner of Pakistan, His Excellency Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat visited the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka on 11 February 2019. The purpose of the visit is to witness the training activities carried out by the IPSOTSL and future infrastructure development project at IPSOTSL. The Commandant IPSOTSL Brigadier PI Pathiratne warmly welcomed HE the HC and deliver a presentation regarding the peacekeeping training and its contribution.

THE VISIT OF UN RESIDENT COORDINATOR OF SRI LANKA TO THE INSTITUTE OF PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TRAINING SRI LANKA ON 06 FEBRUARY 2019

The UN Resident Coordinator of Sri Lanka, Ms Hanna Singer visited the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka on 06 February 2019. The Commandant of IPSOTSL Brigadier PI Pathiratne delivered a comprehensive presentation regarding the peacekeeping training of IPSOTSL. Further Ms Hanna Singer was address the troops who participating for pre deployment training of UNIFIL at IPSOTSL. INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW AND HUMAN RIGHT COURSE

The International Humanitarian Law and Human Right basic course No. 25 was conducted successfully by the Directorate of HR and IHL from 16 January 2019 to 01 February 2019. The course consisted of 21 officers including 18 officers from Sri Lanka Army, one officer from Sri Lanka Navy and three officers from Sri Lanka Police and 35 other ranks representing tri services and police.

The objective of the course was to enhance knowledge of the junior level officers regarding Humanitarian Law and its implication and basic knowledge of Human Right violation.

NEW YEAR PROGRAMME

The 2019 new year day celebration of IPSOTSL Kukuleganga was ceremoniously held with the participation of Comdt Brig PI Pathiratne, CI Lt Col WAJ Hemachandra RSP psc GR and all other officers and other ranks. The Comdt wished all the staff of the institute a very happy new year 2019. Later on, the Army Commander’s New Year day message was delivered during the parade. Further, the IPSOTSL staff read the Public Service Affirmation for a fresh start for the year 2019. The occasion was also graced by a tea table opened by the Comdt IPSOTSL.......

THE VISIT OF DGGS TO IPSOTSL ON 07 DECEMBER 2018

The DGGS visited IPSOTSL on 07 December 2018 as per the invitation of the Comdt of the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka Brig PI Pathiratne. The DGGS was ceremoniously received by a Guard Turnout and was delivered with a comprehensive briefing on the administrative and training activities of the IPSOTSL by the Comdt. Further the DGGS visited the camp complex and the training areas in order to observe the development requirements as per the future infrastructure development plan. INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW AND HUMAN RIGHT COURSE

The International Humanitarian Law and Human Right basic course which is conducted by the Directorate of HR and IHL was held from 03 September 2018 to 20 September 2018 and was completed successfully. The course consisted of 19 officers including two officers from Sri Lankan Air Force and One officer from Sri Lanka Navy and 42 other ranks representing tri services and police.
