IPSOTSL is a prestigious institute of Sri Lanka dedicated to    training of peacekeepers for employment in all types of UNPSO (UN   Peace Support Operations). This institute fulfils the requirement   of UNDPKO as per General Assembly resolution which outlines 'the   necessity and responsibility of every nation to train their armed forces   before any deployment under the flag of United Nations.

 

 
 
CULMINATION OF INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW AND INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS BASIC COURSE - 32

The International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Basic Course conducted at Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) under the direction and guidance of the Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Dte of HR & HL) from 09 - 26 January 2022 was completed successfully. The course consisted with 47 officers from the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force, the Police and the Special Task Force.

The closing address of Other Ranks Instructor Refresher Course was held on Friday (20) January 2023 at the main lecture hall, headed by Brigadier C A Rajapaksha RSP, the Commandant at Institute of peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with the Chief Instructor.

The International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Basic Course was commenced on 09 January 2023 at IPSOTSL under the direction and guidance of Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

UNITED NATIONS MILITARY OBSERVER COURSE NO 01 UNMOC 2022


United Nations Military Observer Course No 01 UNMOC 2022 was conducted on 28 November to 16 December 2022 at IPSOTSL. The course consisted with 37 Student Officers of the Sri Lanka Armed forces. IPSOTSL has mainly focus on the prime responsibility which a Military Observer has to perform and formulated the course curriculum according to the guide lines provided by the UNDPKO.
