DIRECTOR GENERAL OVERSEAS OPERATIONS VISITS INSTITUTE OF PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TRAINING SRI LANKA

Major General P P A Perera Hdmc psc, the Director General, Directorate of Overseas Operations paid a formal visit to IPSOTSL on Monday (24) April 2023 at the invitation of Brigadier C A Rajapaksha RSP the Commandant IPSOTSL with a view to receiving updates of the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL).

Upon arrival at IPSOTSL premises, the Chief Guest was saluted with Guard Turnouts and was warmly welcomed by the commandant IPSOTSL in accordance with military traditions. Adding more importance to the day's itinerary, the distinguished Chief Guest conducted the opening address to the troop of the Pre Deployment Training Course of South Sudan Level II Hospital (UNMISS) Stage - 10. During the opening address many important themes were highlighted such as, the duties and responsibilities of the contingent members according to the UN mandate and the significance of maintaining good conduct and preserving of unity among each other. Further, he admired the praiseworthiness of providing unblemished service to the United Nations to accomplish its targeted goals.

Afterwards, the Director General was invited to plant a sapling in the compound to symbolize the visit before he started to inspect the premises. Later, Major General P P A Perera Hdmc psc posed for a group photograph with senior officers and the troops as symbols of memory.
