INSPIRING LECTURE ON SELF-ACTUALIZATION CONDUCTED AT SLMA

An insightful and inspiring lecture on Self-Actualization was conducted at the Sino Lanka Auditorium of the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 29 March 2025.

The session was conducted by Dr. Maj. Susantha De Silva, Chairman of Sumanka Associates, along with a team of distinguished co-lecturers.

The panel included Psychotherapist Mr. Rohan Piyatilaka, former IT Manager of Velona Group; Dr. (Surgeon) Ms. Sanduni De Silva; Assistant Counsellor Ms. Tharuka; and Ms. Angel, a staff member of Sumanka Associates. Their collective expertise provided attendees with valuable perspectives on personal growth, mental resilience, and self-fulfillment.

The event saw the active participation of senior officers, officers, non-commissioned officers, and civil staff of the Academy. Dr. Susantha De Silva, a former military officer of the Gemunu Watch, brought a unique perspective to the session. Having been medically retired due to injuries sustained in battle, he has since dedicated himself to academia and professional development as an author, writer, lecturer, trainer, psychological counselor, and psychotherapist.

Following the session, participated officers and NCOs expressed their appreciation for the insightful discussion, emphasizing the relevance of self-actualization in military and professional life.

As the event concluded, the Deputy Commandant of SLMA presented tokens of appreciation to the esteemed speakers, acknowledging their contributions to the professional and personal development of SLMA personnel.
