Colonel SDKWMMI Weliwita RWP RSP USP psc of the Gajaba Regiment officially assumed the role of 39th Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing at the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 14 March 2025.
Colonel Ishara Weliwita, formerly the Head of the Training Team at the Military Training Wing is ready to bring extensive experience and expertise to this prestigious role.
The ceremony included a parade, formal handover of duties, a troop address, a welcome tea, and a warm felicitation at the Officers' Mess in the evening. In his address, he expressed his commitment to further enhancing officer training and leadership at the Academy, with a focus on discipline, ethics, and excellence.
With his leadership, the SLMA looks forward to continued success in shaping the next generation of officers dedicated to serving the nation with honor and integrity.
