SRI LANKA MILITARY ACADEMY JOINS ‘CLEAN SRI LANKA’ INITIATIVE

The SLMA actively contributed to the national Clean Sri Lanka project by organizing a comprehensive camp premises cleaning programme on 12 March 2025. The initiative aligned with the Government’s broader vision of fostering a cleaner and more sustainable nation through its three key pillars: Environmental, Ethical, and Social.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from officers, non-commissioned officers, and staff of SLMA, who worked together to enhance the cleanliness and aesthetics of the Academy’s premises and surrounding areas. Their collective effort not only contributed to environmental sustainability but also reinforced the values of discipline and responsibility that define the military ethos.

Following the cleaning programme, an interactive session consisting of number of interesting team games and a cricket match, was held at the Polo Grounds to further strengthen the bond between officers and Non-Commissioned officers of the Headquarters and Academic Wing, marking their annual wing get-together. The session provided an opportunity for personnel to engage in open discussions, build mutual respect, and foster team work which are essential for a cohesive military institution.

The Deputy Commandant of SLMA graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while several senior officers, including the Director Academics, Head of the Department - Languages, and Adjutant SLMA, also participated in the series of events.
