Customarily, the SLMA conducts the Commandant’s Presentation and Parade two days prior to the Commissioning Parade. This practice helps in extending timely guidance, encouragements and compliance on the upcoming POP related events. The Commandant, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP psc graced to witness the Final Research Presentation on 18th evening and the Parade of the passing out Intakes 93B, SC21 and SC22 on 19th morning.
At the arrival, the flex briefers of the above Intakes gave a comprehensive knowledge about transnational crimes with definitions, types, statistical review, conceptual framework and reference materials used in this research study. Then, the presentation on “Threats Posed by Transnational Crimes to Sri Lanka and South Asia: The Role of Security Forces” was conducted by the presentation team, followed by a thought-provoking Q & A session. Having witnessed the presentation and public speaking talents, the Commandant appreciated the officer cadets’ academic talents and their soft skills while acknowledging the contribution of the instructional and directing staff of the Academy. On 19th December 2024, a magnificent ceremonial parade was presented to the Commandant, by performing the drill sequence of a ceremonial commissioning parade. By speaking to the officer cadets on the parade, the Commandant shared his past experiences as a trainee and officer of the SL Army, while offering some advice on the challenging career they are going to embrace soon as Commissioned Officers of the Sri Lanka Army. The Chief Guest concluded his speech by showering his wishes and blessings for an excellent parade on 21st December and for an exemplary stunning military life in future.
