ANNUAL BOXING MEET 2024

Boxing Meet is held annually for the final term Officer Cadets of Sri Lanka Military Academy aiming to develop their self-confidence, stamina, physical fitness, aggressiveness and control of temper. The Inter Intake Boxing Meet- 2024 was held on Friday, 29 November 2024 at the Academy Gymnasium. Lady and gentleman Officer Cadets of Intake 93B, SC 21,SC 22, SC 21A and 22A contested for the championship of the Best Boxer in various weight categories.

Altogether there were six final bouts and an exhibition bout. F/O/CDT TR Friday of Intake SC 21 claimed the title of the Best Boxer - Men while O/CDT YB Jayawardhane of Intake SC 21 was adjudged as the Best Loser - Men. CDT /L/CPL DGMS Dikwella of Intake 93 B claimed the title of the Best Boxer - Women while CDT /L/CPL BRH Ranaweera of Intake 93 B was adjudged as the Best Loser - Women. In addition, the exhibition bout performed by the boxers of the Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment made the event much glamorous while entertaining hundreds of enthusiastic spectators.

The Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Brigadier P S J D Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with the Wing Heads. Officers, Other Rank Instructors and Officer Cadets of all intakes gazed to feel the excitement and intense of game of Boxing.
