  • ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS RITUALS HELD TO  INVOKE BLESSINGS ON FORTHCOMING CORPS DAY SLAC

    As the last in the series of religious events, Islamic religious observances were conducted in view of the forthcoming 67th Anniversary and Corps Day commemoration of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps at the Jummah Mosque, Mutwal on Thursday 08 December 2022 with the participation of Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, Centre Commandant SLAC together with other Senior Officers/Officers and Other Ranks.

  • SPECIAL MASS INVOKES BLESSINGS FOR 67TH ANNIVERSARY OF SLAC

    A special Mass invoking blessings on the forthcoming 67th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was held at St Andrew's Church Modera on 05 December 2022. In the event, religious observances started with the arrival of Brigadier W P Kariyawasam, Commander Armoured Brigade as the Chief Guest.

  • THE ANNUAL ‘PIRITH’ CEREMONY WAS HELD ON 2ND DECEMBER 2022, TO INVOKE BLESSINGS TO All SERVING AND FALLEN HEROES OF THE ARMOURED CORPS

    An all-night ‘Pirith’ chanting, organised by the Regimental Centre SLAC on the celebration of forthcoming 67th Corps Day Anniversary on 15 December 2022, got underway on Friday, 02 December 2022 evening at the Rock House Camp premises. Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, together with Mrs. Harshini Bothota, the President, Armour Ladies Club, Brigadier W P Kariyawasam, Commander Armoured Brigade, Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, Centre Commandant SLAC, Senior Officers, spouses, Other Ranks, Retired Officers and family members of fallen War Heroes attended the event.

  • ARMOURED CORPS WAR HEROES REMEMBERED

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps paid tribute to the memory of fallen War Heroes at the War Heroes monument at Kalattewa on 27 November 2022 before the commemoration of the forthcoming Corps Day. Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC graced the event as the Chief Guest together with several senior officers.

  • SLAC ACCORDED FAREWELL TO RETIRING MAJOR GENERAL M K S SILVA RWP RSP ndu

    A farewell ceremony was held to the retiring Major General M K S Silva RWP RSP ndu, the former Security Forces Commander Central got underway at the Rock House Army Camp on 09 November 2022, which remarked 35 plus years of active service to the Army and the Country.

  • INAUGURATION OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED “THE SCOUT” COMMANDING OFFICER’S CHALET OF 1ST RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT

    Fulfilling a longstanding need of the 1st Reconnaissance Regiment; "The Scout" Commanding Officer’s Chalet, constructed with ongoing development plan of the regiment was declared open by Major General M K S Silva RWP RSP ndu and was vested on Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel W D S D Wickramaarachchi RWP RSP USP psc -1 SLAC on 09 November 2022 at Rock House Camp.

  • NEWLY CONSTRUCTED FORTRESS TYPE MAIN GATE, CHAIN LINK FENCE AND OFFICERS’ MESS OF 6 REGIMENT (RFT) SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS WAS DECLARED OPENED

    Newly Constructed Fortress Type Main Gate, Chain Link Fence and Officers’ Mess of 6th Regiment (rft) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was declared open by Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 12 November 2022 on the invitation of Lieutenant Colonel P A R Wijerathne RWP RSP, Commanding Officer 6th Regiment (rft).

  • INTER UNIT RUGBY TOURNAMENT – 2022

    The final tussle of the Inter Unit Rugby Tournament – 2022, played at Rugby Ground at Rock House Camp on 01 October 2022, pushed 1st Reconnaissance Regiment players to a resounding victory beating the rival, 4th Armoured Regiment.

  • THREE FLAG RANK OFFICERS OF SLAC EXCELLED IN INTER REGIMENT PRACTICAL RIFLE AND COMBAT SHOOTING COMPETITION 2022

    The Inter Regiment Practical Rifle and Combat Shooting Competition 2022, organised by the Army Small Arms Association (ASAA) together with the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) at Diyatalawa, ended on 30 September 2022 and three flag rank officers of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps exceled in the competition.

  • INTER UNIT BADMINTON TOURNAMENT – 2022

    Inter Unit Badminton Tournament - 2022 organised by1st Reconnaissance Regiment, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was held at Rock House Indoor Stadium on 03, 04, 10 and 12 of August 2022. Military Secretary and the Col Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Maj Gen D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the finals.
