The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc, attended the laying of the foundation stone for proposed Officers' holiday bungalow at Weerawila on 17 July. Project was initiated with the aim of enhancing the welfare of Officers of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc paid his first visit after assuming the duties to 5 Reconnaissance Regiment on 10 July 2020 and he was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment along with a Guard Turnout. Colonel Commandant was the 6th Commanding Officer of the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment and he was briefed about the present status of the unit by the present Commanding Officer. Colonel Commandant appreciated all the Commanding Officers who commanded the unit from the inception for their hard work to uplift the standard of the unit.

The 21st Annual General Meeting of Armour Ladies Club was held on 4th July 2020 at Rock House camp with the participation of many spouses of Cavalry Officers. Mrs. Piumali Tillekerathne, president of the Armour Ladies Club graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Advisor to the Armour Ladies Club together with Brigadier M S Devapriya USP Centre Commandant Regimental Centre participated as special guests to the event. They were warmly welcomed by the Vice President Mrs. Sareetha Silva together with Secretary Mrs. Dulashi Meepagala.

68th Regimental Council meeting of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was held at Rock House camp on 3rd July 2020. Meeting was presided by Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc while elucidating his strategy as the new Colonel Commandant for bringing more professional and cohesive Arm in the Sri Lanka Army. Discussion was mainly focused on matters pertaining to career progression, training and administrative aspects.

Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage WWV RWP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps made an official visit to 6 SLAC (rft) on 25 May 2020. To mark his visit, he was reverenced and esteemed by a Guard Turnout followed by troop address, tree planting and all ranks tea while adhering to the stipulated safety regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Maj General Sathyappriya Liyange WWV RWP VSV USP ndc psc participated the ceremonial commencement of mango tree planting while he visits the Armoured Corps Training Centre on 18 May 2020. According to the Green Concept of "Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak" 150 technically advanced TJC mango plants were planted on that occasion to bring the message of responsibility of all citizens in the journey towards a prosperous self-sustained land. Armoured Corps Training Centre Anuradhapura initiated this project.
