A solemn and dignified commemoration ceremony was held on 14 January 2026 in honour of the Fallen Armour War Heroes, paying tribute to the brave officers and soldiers of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps who made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the motherland. This annual event, conducted in accordance with regimental traditions, took place at the Armour War Heroes Monument, Kalattawa, Anuradhapura. The ceremony was attended by the Colonel Commandant, senior officers, officers and other ranks of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, reflecting the Regiment’s collective respect and remembrance of its fallen comrades.

The Opening Ceremony of the newly constructed “The Iron Shield Auditorium” was successfully held on Wednesday, 14 January 2026 at the Armoured Corps Training Centre, Kalattewa. The ceremony was honoured by the distinguished presence of the Director General General Staff of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Maj Gen P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, as the Chief Guest. The proceedings included religious observances, the unveiling of the commemorative plaque and the ceremonial planting of a sapling, followed by a group photograph.

Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, the Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, paid an official visit to the 4 Armoured Regiment on 13 January 2026. The visit commenced with a ceremonial Guard Turnout (Drive Pass) at the main entrance, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony, a group photograph and the planting of a sapling near the Regimental Headquarters.

The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps proudly commemorated its 70th Anniversary on 15 December 2025 at the Rock House Camp premises. In view of the recent natural disaster faced by the country, the programme was conducted in a modified and dignified manner, reflecting both restraint and respect. The occasion was graced by the Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, as the Chief Guest along with the President of the Armour Ladies’ Club Mrs. Summangali Pathiravithana.

Sri Lanka Armoured Corps conducted its annual Pirith Chanting and Alms Giving ceremony on 10 and 11 December 2025 in commemoration of the Corps’ 70th Anniversary. The Colonel Commandant and Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General Ravi Pathiravithana USAWC psc, graced the event along with the President of the Armour Ladies Club Mrs. Sumangali Pathiravithana. A large number of senior officers, officers, soldiers, and members of the Armour Ladies Club also participated, making the occasion both dignified and spiritually meaningful.

The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps conducted its Multi-Religious Flag Blessing Ceremony on 9 December 2025 at the Rock House Camp premises in commemoration of the Corps’ 70th Anniversary. Clergy representing all major religions invoked blessings on the Corps flags, symbolizing unity, strength, and the proud heritage of seven decades of dedicated service. During the ceremony, special prayers were also offered for all officers and soldiers of the Corps who made the supreme sacrifice or were wounded during the internal conflict of the country.

The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps ceremonially bade a farewell to Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, who retired on 30 September 2025 after 34 years of distinguished service. The proceedings at the Home of Armour, Rock House Camp included a Guard Turnout, a Farewell Parade, a tea party and a Farewell Dinner attended by the Colonel Commandant, Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Senior Officers, Officers and their spouses.

The 33rd Commemoration of the late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa was held on 8 August 2025 at the Denzil Kobbekaduwa Memorial Statue in Anuradhapura. The event was graced by the Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, as the Chief Guest. Madam Lali Kobbekaduwa, together with members of the Kobbekaduwa family, attended as special invitees. Council Members, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers, and other SLAC officers were also present, alongside invitees from the Police, Sister Services, and other military establishments in the Anuradhapura area.
