Sri Lanka Armoured Corps celebrated its 68th Anniversary on 15 December 2023. Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC graced the Corps Day anniversary ceremonies as the Chief Guest, held at Rock House Army Camp.

As the last in the series of religious events, Islamic religious observances were conducted in view of the forthcoming 68th Anniversary and Corps Day commemoration of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps at the Jummah Mosque, Mutwal on Thursday 12 December 2023 with the participation of Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, Brig A P C R Prematilaka RSP USP and Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP, the Commander Armoured Brigade together with other Senior Officers/Officers and Other Ranks.

A special Mass to invoke blessings to SLAC coinciding its forthcoming 68th Anniversary was held at St Andrew's Church Mutwal on 11 December 2023. Religious observances started with the arrival of the Military Secretary and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, as the Chief Guest together with Centre Commandant Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP and Commander Armoured Brigade, Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP.

An all-night ‘Pirith’ chanting, organised by the Regimental Centre SLAC on the celebration of forthcoming 68th Corps Day Anniversary on 15 December 2023, got underway on Thursday, 30 November 2023 evening at the Rock House Camp premises. Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, together with Mrs. Samangka Fernando, the President, Armour Ladies Club, Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, Centre Commandant SLAC, Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP, Commander Armoured Brigade, Senior Officers, Spouses, Other Ranks, Retired Officers and family members of fallen War Heroes attended the event.
