An all-night ‘Pirith’ chanting, on the celebration of forthcoming 69th Corps Day Anniversary on 15 December 2024, got underway on 06 December 2024 evening at the Home of Armour. Major General M S Devapriya USP ndc, Quarter Master General, Army Headquarters and the Colonel Commandant - SLAC, together with Mrs. Dulashi Meepagala, the President, Armour Ladies Club, Commander Armoured Brigade, Centre Commandant SLAC, Senior Officers, Spouses, Other Ranks, Retired Officers, Mrs. Lali Kobbekaduwa & several family members of fallen War Heroes.
The Venerable Maha Sangha were escorted to the main preaching hall in a vibrant procession featuring whip crackers, fireball acrobats, traditional dancers, and a cultural troupe. The Nayaka Thero delivered a sermon invoking blessings upon the Corps, its injured and fallen War Heroes, and their families.
The following morning, the religious ceremony concluded with the offering of ‘Heel Dhaana’ at the venue.
