231 Brigade of 23 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) distributed 100 packs of school amenities among the students of Mangalagama School in Batticaloa with the generous sponsorship of Mrs Tina and Mrs Wasantha on 08th May 2015. (No of troops participated 05 x 15)

The newly constructed residence of Bishop House with the assistance of army troops was declared open by the Bishop Batticaloa Dr J Ponnaiya and Commander Security Force (East) Maj Gen NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc at St.Peter’s Church Vakarei on 10 May 2015. GOC 23 Division, Bde Comd of 233 Bde, other Military and Civil Officials made their presence in this meritorious deed.

An offering of fruits, herbs, \"Chathu Madura\" and lightening of eighty four thousand oil lamps for Seruwawila Mangala Maha Seya were organized with the patronage of the Chief Incumbent of Seruwawila Mangala Maha Viharaya Ven. Saranakitthi Thero and several other monks from Mahamewna Monastery, Kaduwela on 09th May 2015. The Divisional Secretariat of Seruwila, Navy Comd of Eastern Province, Comd 222 Bde, CCCA of 222 Bde, COs of 22 VIR and 24 SLNG and DIG of Kanthale gave their fullest contribution in this meritorious deed.

A medical clinic and medical and agricultural exhibition organized by the 232 bde of 23 Div in SFHQ(E) AOR was held from 8.00 pm to 4.30 pm on 17 May 2015 at Vilayala Maha Vidyalaya Aralaganvila. Aim of the exhibition was to enhance the knowledge of the people about health and agriculture. The event was organized with the assistance of Faculty of Medicine - University of Keleniya and troops of 12 SLA and 8 SLNG were also participated for the event.

6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment located at Thiriyaya under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), organized a \"shramadana\" campaign to clean the premises of Pichchamal Viharaya in Kuchchaweli on 20th May 2015. (Troops participated 00 x 06)

A series of drug prevention and awareness programme were organized by the Directorate of Psychological Operations covering the entice AOR of SFHQ(E) in coordination with National Dangerous Drugs Control Board. Final programme was held at the 24 Division Ampara where the first and second programmes were held at 5 SLAMC Habarana and 23 Division Punani respectively. The lectures were conducted by the representatives from the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.

12th Sri Lanka National Guard under 242 Brigade of 24 Division inSecurity Force (East), conducted a Dengue Prevention Campaign at Vinayagapuram Shakthi Vidyalaya in Thirukkovil on 22nd May 2015. (Troops participated 00 x 10)

His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Hon Maithreepala Sirisena visited the SFHQ (East) to address the troops of Security Forces East on 24th May 2015. Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Mr. BMUD Basnayake, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General AWJC de Silva RWP USP ndu psc and Security Force Commander Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc warmly welcomed the President. A Guard of Honour was presented to the president by the Sri Lanka Engineers.

Basic Computer Course No 2 for the year 2015 commenced on 27th May 2015 at Security Forces Headquarters (East) in association with the Orient Academy Limited, for the officers and other ranks serving in the area of Security Forces (East). The Opening Address was delivered by Lt Col W L A C Perera RSP, General Staff Officer 1 (Ops) of Security Forces Headquarters (East). The Computer Course will be conducted for 21 x working days with a view to develop the Computer Literacy of the Officers and Soldiers serving in the AOR of Security Forces (East).
