CELEBRATION OF WORLD CHILDREN\'S DAY

23 Division organized a trip to Sallathiv Beach to mark the World Children\'s Day on 01 October 2015. 75 Students of Ruhunuketa Primary School, 7 teachers and parents of the students were participated for this trip. Lunch was provided for the participants at the beach. GOC 23 Div Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc and several other Officers from 23 Division also participated for the said event.

DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL AMENITIES

4500 Packs of school amenities and sleeping bags were distributed among the students of low income families in Thamankaduwa, Lankapura, Hingurakgoda, Vilayaya, Welikanda and Vakarei areas with the sponsorship of Rotary Club, Kelaniya and \"Around the World Sleeping Children Organization\" in Canada, covering the area of Security Force (East).

CELEBRATING THE 66th ARMY DAY AT SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (EAST)

Security Forces Headquarters (East) commemorated the 66th Army Day on 10th October 2015 at Security Forces Headquarters (East), Welikanda. Initially the flag of Security Forces Headquarters (East) was hoisted. After declaring the Army Commander\'s message, the 66th Army Day Celebration was culminated with a tea party arranged at the Other Ranks\' Mess with the participation of all the Officers and Other Ranks of Security Forces Headquarters (East).

DELEGATION OF ARMED FORCES WAR COURSE – BANGLADESH VISIT TO SFHQ (E)

A Delegation of Armed Forces War Course Bangladesh visited Security Forces Headquarters - East on 7 October 2015 headed by the Brigadier General Mesbah UI Alam Chowdhury SUP ndc afwc psc, Chief Instructor Armed Forces War Course wing, National Defence College Bangladesh consisted with 46 Senior Officers.\r\n\r\nThe visiting delegation were briefed on the function of Security Forces Headquarters (East) and its current duties and responsibilities during the meeting with the Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces East.

66TH ANNIVERSARY OF SRI LANKA ARMY

In parallel with the 66th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, 23 Division has organized a series of programmes to mark the Anniversary Day.The programme was started with a Bodhi pooja at the temple premises of 23 Division on 09 Oct 15.On the following day, programme was commenced with hoisting the flag of 23 Division and reading the message of the Commander of the Army. A Tree Planting Ceremony was taken place to mark this day with the participation of the GOC, 23 Division Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc following an All Ranks tea party.

OPENING OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED TENNIS COURT OF SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (EAST)

Newly constructed tennis court of SFHQ (East) declared open by Maj Gen NJ Walgama RSP VSV USP ndu psc Commander Security Forces (East) on 14.10.2015 for the use of Officers and Other Ranks serving in Security Forces Headquarters (East). An exhibition match was played by two players of the Army tennis pool. All Officers and several Other Ranks of Security Forces Headquarters (East) were participated for the occasion.

CATTLE RELEASE PROGRAMME - 22 DIV AOR

A cattle release programme which was organized by 221 Bde under the direction of GOC 22 Div Maj Gen MKD Perera RWP RSP USP ndu with the sponsorship of Ven Omalpe Sobhitha Thero\'s Bodhiraja Foundation, was held at the 2nd (Vol) Gajaba Regiment Headquarters on 27 Oct 15. Cattles were distributed among the poor families who live in the 22 Div AOR.
