1. The shortage of officer carder had been fulfilled by a considerable number of non commissioned officers during the humanitarian operations. Their contribution as junior leaders had been a great impact for the success of the operations. It is worth mentioning that many of them made a supreme sacrifice in the battle field for the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of mother Lanka.However it was observed that the standard of English knowledge of above mentioned officers are needed to be improve the expected stranded sanders of and officering.\r\n\r\n2.

Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival of 233 Bde was held at pradeshiya Saba public ground at Vakarai on 28th April 2016. Several traditional event of the New Year festival were held during the event such as kotta poraya, kanamuttiya, tug of war and many other colorful pageants (Fancy dress, Aurudu Kumaraya, Aurudu Kumari).Many people in Vakarai, Mankerni, Panichchankerni and Kadiraweli area along with members of the army were also took part as well as witness the event.

With the Guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Maj Gen KMU Wijeratne USP ndu, the Commanding Officer 3 SLEME Lt Col KARK Dias USP SLEME has initiated a special tractor repair project at Medium Workshop, 3 SLEME, Minneriya under the supervision of Comd FMA (E) Brig AV Rupasinghe. The total cost of this project was Rs. 2,275,200.55 and 12 x tractors were overhauled under this project within a period of 05 months.

The Inter Division Elle Championship – 2016 of Security Forces (East) which was organized by SFHQ (East) concluded on 07 May 2016 at SFHQ (East) sports grounds.rnElle teams of SFHQ (East), 03 x Divs and FMA (East) were confronted during the tournament on league basis. rnThis was a brainchild of Comd SF (East) Maj Gen K M U Wijeratne USP ndu and Inter Division Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Netball and Athletics will be held during the year in same nature.rnrnAfter close encounter, 24 Div team was emerged as the champions and 22 Div team was placed as runners up.

Considering the nature of duty and the personal problems faced by the SLAWC members, an awareness programme on baby care was organized by the Security Forces Headquarters (East) for female Offrs and ORs of 3 (V) SLAWC on 06 May 2016 at SFHQ (E) on the direction of Comd SF (E) Maj Gen KMU Wijeratne USP ndu. Similar programme was conducted for 5 (V) SLAWC members who are deployed in 22 Div AOR in TCO on 07 May 2016.\r\n.

232 Brigade of 23 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), conducted an alms giving at Kandegama Temple in Dimbulagala DS area to mark its 19th Anivesary on 22nd July 2015. 05 x 70 Army personnel participated for this event.

23 Division under the Security Force Headquarters (East) conducted a series of programmes to celebrate its 25th Anniversary in a grand scale at the 23 Division Headquarters, Punani. This was included several military and religious events, such as an all-night \"Pirith\" Chanting on 22 July 2015 followed by offering of alms to the monks next day. \r\nOn Thursday (23) Major General DDUK Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 23 Division received the salute of Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour presented by 23 Division troops.

With the direction of Commander Security Forces East Maj Gen NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc, the Basic Computer Course No 03 was commenced on 03rd July 2015 at Headquarters Security Forces East Welikanda in association with Orient Academy Limited for 40 Officers and Other Ranks stationed at Security Forces East area. The course concluded on 27th July 2014 and the closing address was conducted by Colonel W T W G Ihalage RWP RSP psc, Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (East).

As per the direction and guidance of the Comd of the Army Lt Gen AWJC De Silva RWP USP ndu psc, Directorate of Psychological Operations organized a 3 day workshop on \'\' Blissful Life in the Army\'\' in cooperation with Army Mental Health Unit. 46 Officers who are serving in SF (E) AOR were participated for the said programme which conducted at SFHQ (E) on 28, 29 and 30 July 2015 in order to educate on how to get rid of problem arise both in military and civil life.

232 Brigade of 23 Division in Security Forces (East) organized a Blood Donation Programme at HQ 232 Brigade - Thoppigala on 28 July 2015 to mark the 19th Anniversary of the Brigade. 07 Officers and 56 soldiers donated their blood to fulfill the blood requirement of Teaching Hospital Polonnaruwa.
