BANGLADESH DEFENCE ADVISER CALLS ON COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST)

The Defence Adviser of the High Commission of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, Commodore S Aslam Parvez (TAS) nswc, afwc, psc, BN made a call on to the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, during a visit to the Eastern Province on 13 March 2017.\r\nThe visiting Bangladesh Defence Adviser and the Commander SF (E) focused on matters pertaining to military responsibilities during the existing peaceful environment in the Eastern Province.\r\nThe meeting culminated with exchange of mementoes as symbols of goodwill and relationship.\r\n

WORKSHOP ON ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR AT HQ 23 DIVISION

1. Organizational Behavior (OB) is the study of the way people interact within groups. Normally this study is applied in an attempt to create more efficient organizations as well as in the field of military too. The central idea of the study of organizational behaviour is that a scientific approach can be applied to the management of workers. Organizational behaviour theories are used for human resource purposes to maximize the output from individual group members.

COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) VISITS 3 (V) MIC

The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, visited 3 (V) MIC deployed in Girithale on 15 March 2017. On arrival at the 3 (V) MIC Headquarters, the Commander Security Forces (East) was welcomed by Commanding Officer, Major WMJK Karunaratne RSP Isc, and honoured with a Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities and thereafter all the officers of the battalion were introduced to the Comd SF (E) by CO.

SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST) TAKES INITIATIVE IN PLANTING INDIGENOUS MEDICINAL PLANTS

A herbal garden with over 200 varieties of indigenous medicinal plants and shrubs was ceremonially inaugurated at 0900 hrs on 17 March 2017 astride the approach road to SF HQ (E).\r\nOn the directions of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc , this program was implemented by the Officers and ORs with a view to safeguard indigenous herbal species and to provide herbal raw materials to the public.

FOUNDATION STONE- LAYING FOR NEW HOUSE AND HOUSE WARMING CEREMONY TOGETHER BY COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST)

Commander Security Forces (East) Maj Gen Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, participated for a laying of foundation-stone ceremony for construction of new house together with a house warming ceremony for two low income families in Aselapura, Welikanda, on 19 March 2017.\r\n‘Gauthama Daruwo Arya Foundation’ at Meerigama Contributed for construction of a new house for a family, with unemployed farther Mr. A K Sujith Perera and two children worth of Rs 500,000.00, lived in a mud hut and handed over amidst a simple ceremony.

A LECTURE ON ART OF LIVING AT SF HQ (E)

Among the series of educational lectures conducted in SF HQ (E) under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, Dr Kanchana Kohombange, a renowned Astrologist, Hand Analyst (palmistry) and researcher delivered a lecture on how to live happily on 18 March 2017.\r\n\r\nThis programme was immensely benefitted to all Officers and Other Ranks, in all ages related with the well being of family life.

23 DIV IN CHARITY WORKS

Gentleman’s happiness comes from donating many things in many ways for the present and future generations’. It has been proven by the members of the ‘Arunalu’ Charity Programme which was organised to donate many kinds of school items to Kandegama School in Aralaganwila area.\r\nThe President of the ‘Arunalu’ Charity Programme, Mr. Sanjeewa Siriwardena and members joining with troops of 23 Div organized a charity programme on 20 March 2017 at Kandegama School in Aralaganwila area.

HEALTHY ARMY HEALTHY NATION PROGRAMME EDUCATES TROOPS IN SECURITY FORCES (EAST)

The \"Healthy Army Healthy Nation\" (HAHN) campaign aimed to reduce disability and death among Army personnel due to Cardio Vascular Diseases (CVD) and diabetes has increased the awareness Programmes to prevent Army personnel falling prey to the Non Communicable Diseases.(NCD)\r\nAnother round of the ongoing Healthy Army Healthy Nation campaign got underway on 24 March 2017 at the HQ of Security Forces, East at Welikanda .
