SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST) TAKES INITIATIVE IN PLANTING INDIGENOUS MEDICINAL PLANTS
A herbal garden with over 200 varieties of indigenous medicinal plants and shrubs was ceremonially inaugurated at 0900 hrs on 17 March 2017 astride the approach road to SF HQ (E).\r\nOn the directions of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc , this program was implemented by the Officers and ORs with a view to safeguard indigenous herbal species and to provide herbal raw materials to the public. \r\nFurther, programmes of this nature will undoubtedly lead to preserve herbal plants unveiling their identity to the world and educating the soldiers about the value of preserving indigenous herbal species as well.\r\n
