Under the supervision of 22 Div, medical clinics were organized by 221 and 224 Brigades at Sri Rathnajothi Pirivena, Mihindupura College - Trincomalee and Mandalagiri Temple – Dehiwatta on 19 and 20 Dec 2015. Nearly 750 civilians were benefited in this programme. With the sponsorship of \"Jayagrahanaya padanama\" – Colombo, 18 Doctors and 21 medical assistants made a valuable contribution towards these clinics. Troops of 6 SLAC, 2(V) GR and 5(V) SLA provided assistance in this meritorious deed.

22 Division under Security Forces (East) organized a distribution of gifts among 155 children at Rewatha Children\'s Home, Linganagar Children\'s Home, Kallar Children\'s Home, Echalampathtu Children\'s Home, Lankapatuna Children\'s Home, Neelapola Children\'s Home, and Dehiwathta Children\'s Home on 23 and 24 Dec 2015 to mark the Christmas Day. The programme wa s ponsored by Hemas Private Limited. Senior Officers and Other Ranks also participated for the event .

Major General KMU Wijeratne USP ndu assumed duties as the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (East) at the auspicious time following to the religious rituals on 15 January 2016. He was offered with a Guard of Honor by the 7 Fd SLE and a Tree Planting was held at the Headquarters premises to mark the day. Tea party was organized by all rank of SFHQ (E) followed by Troops Address on the same day. The Commander Security Forces Headquarters (East) Maj Gen NJ Walgama RSP VSV USP ndu psc visited 24 Division Headquarters on 12 January 2016 in behalf of the relinquish of his appt as the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (East). During his visit, he was given a Guard Turn Out by the troops of 3(V) VIR. To mark this day a Tree Planting Ceremony was held at the 24 Div premises.

Major General Udayanta Wijeratne, Commander Security Forces (East) visited the 22 Division and 24 Division on 18, 19, 21 and 22 January 2016 on assuming duties as Commander, SF (E).

1. On a request made by 23 Division, Susarana Lanka Social Development Foundation of Kandy, conducted a special medical clinic on 24 January 2016 at Welikanda Maha Vidyalaya. Nearly 2000 civilians who do not have the access for proper medical treatments in Welikanda area were benefited by the said medical clinic.

The programme was conducted by Security Forces Headquarters (East) to mark the National Sports and Physical Fitness Promotion Week on 26 January 2016 at Polonnaruwa Royal College with the assistance of Army Physical Training Instructors.\r\n\r\n The Physical Fitness programme, which comprised of series of practical activities, was launched with the objective of applying sports in a practical manner to prevent and mitigate non-communicable diseases.\r\n\r\n Students and Teachers of Polonnaruwa Royal College and several Army officers also took part in the programme which was held on Tuesday (26

On a request made by General Officer Commanding, 23 Division Major General DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc, two Senior Lecturers from Botanical Garden - Peradeniya Mr Chaminda Rathnayaka and Mr Susil Gamage conducted a lecture on Sri Lankan Biodiversity and Environmental Friendly Landscaping for officers and other ranks of Sri Lanka Army on 26 January 2016. 25 x 175 troops from 23 Division participated for the above mentioned lecture.
