23 DIVISION TROOPS EDUCATED ON ART OF LIVING HAPPILY

As per the direction of GOC 23 DIV Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc troops of 23 Div had an opportunity of listening to a lecture on \"Art of Living Happily\" which was conducted by Senior Psychiatrist and Counselor Mrs Emasha Kariyakarawana on 22nd and 23rd August 2015 at Welikanda Maha Vidyalaya. On the same day a counseling programme was held by a team of Seth Organization to educate people how to negotiate problems faced in day to day life. \r\nNearly 650 Army Personnel under command to 23 Division and 550 civilians attentively took part for the said programme. \r\n

BANGLADESH NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE DELEGATION VISIT TO SFHQ(E)

A Delegation of Bangladesh National Defence College visited Security Forces Headquarters – East on 31 August 2015 headed by the Lt Gen Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy BB SBC ndc psc Comdt of the National Defence College Bangladesh consisted with 23 senior officers from Bangladesh, India and Nigeria. \r\nThe visiting delegation were briefed on the function of Security Forces Headquarters (East) and its current duties and responsibilities during the meeting with the Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces East.

INTER REGIMENT CRICKET TOURNAMENT – SFHQ(E) AOR

The Annual Cricket Tournament - 2015 which was organised by Security Forces Headquarters (East) under the direction of Sri Lanka Army Sports Club (Cricket), was held at the playground of Security Forces Headquarters (East). All the battalions under command to SF (E) AOR participated for this year cricket tournament. \r\n\r\n 9 GW and 4 SF were qualified for the final match held on 11 Sep 2015 and the Championship was won by 9 GW defeating 4 SF.

CELEBRATION OF WORLD CHILDREN\'S DAY

22nd Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 24th Sri Lanka National Guard under 222 Brigade of 22 Division in Security Forces (East) area, provided refreshments and lunch for 177 x children at Navoddya Preschool Somapura, Srimangalapura Preschool Kallar and Silpa Preschool Ichchalanpaththu in Trincomale on 01 October 2015 to mark the World Children\'s Day. 03 x 20 Army personnel were participated for this event.

CELEBRATION OF WORLD CHILDREN\'S DAY

23 Division organized a trip to Sallathiv Beach to mark the World Children\'s Day on 01 October 2015. 75 Students of Ruhunuketa Primary School, 7 teachers and parents of the students were participated for this trip. Lunch was provided for the participants at the beach. GOC 23 Div Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc and several other Officers from 23 Division also participated for the said event.
