241 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Forces (East) organized a Blood Donation Programme at Maligatenna Temple on 05 August 2015. 160 Army personal including Officers and soldiers donated their blood to fulfill the blood requirement of Teaching Hospital Ampara. Maj Gen PMR Bandara WWV USP psc - GOC 24 Div and Bde Comd of 241 Bde were also present at the programme.

242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Forces (East) organized a Blood Donation Programme at Komari Central Dispensary and Maternity Home on 07 August 2015. 129 Army personal including Officers and soldiers donated their blood to fulfill the blood requirement of Teaching Hospital Ampara. Comd 242 Bde was also present at the programme.

23rd Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located at Sengamuwa under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division in the AOR of Security Forces (East), organized a \"Shramadana\" campaign to clean the premises of Al Aqsa School at Pottuvil on 09th August 2015. 10 x Army personnel were participated for this event.

23rd Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located at Sengamuwa under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division in the AOR of Security Forces (East), organized a \"Shramadana\" campaign to clean the premises of Komari Central Dispensary and Maternity Home on 09th August 2015. 04 x Army personnel were participated for this event.

6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment located at Thiriyaya under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), organized a \"shramadana\" campaign to clean the premises of Pichamal Viharaya in Kuchchawele on 13th August 2015. 06 x Army personnel were participated for this event.

7th Field Sri Lanka Engineers under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Forces (East),organized a Bodhi Pooja programme and distributed lunch packets to the inmates of Vocational Training Centre for Disabled People in Polonnaruwa District on 09th Aug 2015 in the memory of deceased and disabled war heroes. CO, 7 Fld SLE along with other Officers, ORs and villagers of the area participated for the meritorious deeds.

Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal K A Gunatilleke RWP and bar RSP VSV USP ndc psc qfi visited the HQ SF (E) on 20 August 2015 as his first visit to a Security Force Headquarter. rnOn his arrival Commander SF (E) Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc warmly welcomed him and a Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief of Defence Staff by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

Basic Computer Course No 4 for the year 2015 commenced on 24th August 2015 at Security Forces Headquarters (East) in association with the Orient Academy Limited. The Opening address was delivered by Colonel W T W G Ihalage RWP RSP psc, Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (East). The Computer Course will be conducted for 21 x working days with a view to develop the Computer Literacy of the Officers and Soldiers serving in the area of Security Forces (East).

As per the direction of GOC 23 DIV Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarachchi RSP USP ndu psc troops of 23 Div had an opportunity of listening to a lecture on \"Art of Living Happily\" which was conducted by Senior Psychiatrist and Counselor Mrs Emasha Kariyakarawana on 22nd and 23rd August 2015 at Welikanda Maha Vidyalaya. On the same day a counseling programme was held by a team of Seth Organization to educate people how to negotiate problems faced in day to day life. \r\nNearly 650 Army Personnel under command to 23 Division and 550 civilians attentively took part for the said programme. \r\n

A Delegation of Bangladesh National Defence College visited Security Forces Headquarters – East on 31 August 2015 headed by the Lt Gen Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy BB SBC ndc psc Comdt of the National Defence College Bangladesh consisted with 23 senior officers from Bangladesh, India and Nigeria. \r\nThe visiting delegation were briefed on the function of Security Forces Headquarters (East) and its current duties and responsibilities during the meeting with the Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces East.
