THE VISIT OF CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF TO THE SF HQ (E)
Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal K A Gunatilleke RWP and bar RSP VSV USP ndc psc qfi visited the HQ SF (E) on 20 August 2015 as his first visit to a Security Force Headquarter. rnOn his arrival Commander SF (E) Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc warmly welcomed him and a Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief of Defence Staff by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. A tree was planted at the HQ premises to mark his visit to SF (E) area.rnOverall briefing of SF (E) AOR was given by Commander SF (E) Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc while the Navy deployment of the AOR and matters related to security were briefed by COMEAST - Rear Admiral NBJ Rosayro RSP USP ndc psc and COMSOUTHEAST - Rear Admiral KKJ de Silva RSP USP psc. Subsequently Air Force deployment was briefed by Dy Comd SLAF Base China Bay- Air Cdre JP Wanigatunge USP BSc MSc (Def.Strat.Stu) in Mgt. rnThe Commander of Security Forces (East) exchanged mementos with Chief of Defence Staff as a sign of his visit to the SF HQ (East). All Division Commanders in the SF (East) were present at the occasion.
