22 DIVISION TROOPS DONATE BLOOD TO TRINCOMALEE HOSPITAL

22 Division conducted a Blood Donation Programme on 30 October at the 22 Div Headquarters. \r\n\r\n This virtuous deed was organized by the 22 Division on the instructions of Maj Gen KPA Jayasekara WWV RSP USP ndu psc-General Officer Commanding 22 Division in response to a request made by Dr RA Devarajah in charge of the Blood Bank-Trincomalee Hospital. \r\n\r\n More than 150 officers and Other Ranks participated for the event and volunteered to donate blood. The hospital Director and the staff thanked the Army for their generosity.\r\n

ANOTHER COMMUNITY - ORIENTED EMPOWERING PROGRAMME OF ARMY SEVA VANITHA UNIT CONCLUDES IN SF (EAST)

A donation programme of school items sponsored by the Lions Club of Colombo Fort was successfully held at Sinhapura Kanishta Vidyalaya Welikanda on Saturday (04) under the coordination of Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU). NEW SF-EAST COMMANDER PAYS FIELD VISIT TO 23 DIVISION

Major General H W S D B Pananwala RSP ndu, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-E) made his maiden visit to the Headquarters 23 Division on Wednesday (08).\r\n\r\nOn the arrival of the visiting Commander SF-E at the 23 Division Headquarters, he was received by Brigadier B V D P Abeynayake USP ndu, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 23 Division before he was accorded a Guard Turn Out at the main entrance.\r\n\r\nAfterwards, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by troops of the 4 GW of the 23 Division in conformity with military traditions.

COMMANDER SF (EAST) MEETS THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS, COMMUNITY LEADERS AND PROFESSIONALS OF THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN BATTICALOA DISTRICT

16 SLNG TPS ASSISTS TO RENOVATE A BROKEN CHANNEL BUND IN AMPARA

The troops of 16 SLNG and 241 Brigade engaged in renovating a channel bund in Karangawa, Ampara which was damaged due to heavy showers. Under the directions of Major General LM Mudalige RWP RSP ndu - General Officer Commanding, 24 Div and with the coordination of D S Ampara, the troops rushed to Karangwwa area on Friday (03) and renovated the damaged bund successfully where a patch of 20 feet in length had been broken due to the heavy rain.

TROOPS OF 22 DIVISION ENGAGED IN A DENGUE PREVENTION PROGRAMME

22 Division conducted a special Dengue Prevention Programme in Kinniya, Muthur and Trincomalee Town and Gravets on 18 February 2017. This event got underway with the assistance of Area Medical Officers and the staff of the respective Divisional Secretariats. Coincide with the above program the troops of 2 (V) GR also conducted a Shramadhana campaign to clean the premises of Vivekananda College of Trincomalee along with the school staff.

A JOINT SHRAMADANA CAMPAIGN FOCUSSING \"A CLEAN CITY AND A CLEAN COUNTRY\" IN WELIKANDA

In accordance with a concept of His Excellency the President, Maithreepala Sirisena, a special Shramadana Campaign was conducted in Welikanda municipal area on 21 February 2017, under the theme of ‘a clean city and a clean country’. This had been organized with a view to create a clean and a pleasant environment. \r\nDuring this Shramadana Campaign, the whole municipal area was cleaned with the participation of more than 500 members of Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Police, Civil Security Department, Government Institutes, members of the business community and the general public.

MEDICAL CLINIC AND DONATION PROGRAM FOR NEEDY - CONDUCTED BY SFHQ (E) AT VILAYAYA CENTRAL COLLEGE - ARALAGANWILA
