Continues awareness programmes on prevention of spreading COVID 19 were conducted in Eraur and Kattankudy towns on 09 May 2021 by 4 GW and 11 SLSR troops in liaison with Kattankudy and Eraur Police Stations under the supervision of Commander 231 Infantry Brigade and with the direction of Major General Nalin Koswatte, the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division.
46 persons were arrested and warned for not adhering the preventive measures and later they were released. Programmes were focused on preventive measures for COVID 19 and its critical effects for the health of human beings. Primarily, people were educated on the importance of wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands.
