The troops of 22 Division organized an educational tour to Anuradhapura with the students of the Rewatha Children’s Development Center Tincomalee on (19) Sunday.

To mark the International Youth Day and with a view to improve sports skills of the youth in Trincomalee area, 221 Brigade organized a football match between the 22 Division football team and Town & Gravest Sports Club. The match was played at Fort Fredrick Playground on 12 August 2018.

Troops of the 22 Division recently celebrated their 21st anniversary with a series of events on the directions of General officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara at 22 Division Headquarters Premises Trincomalee.

Reconciliation cricket match was held between Royal fighter’s Thoppur team and peradeniya university team on Sunday (22) at peradeniya university ground. It was also aimed at motivating the youth in the area and further strengthening gestures of good will and ethnic harmony.

More than 50 Army troops took prompt action to arrest the spread of a wildfire in the Somawathiya National Park on Thursday (19) after the matter was brought to the notice of the Security Force (East).

Troops of 224 Brigade organized a two - day seminar at AI Hidaya Maha Vidyalaya Muthur on 17 and 18 July with the aim of assisting the students who are expected to appear in the forthcoming G.C.E A/L exam 2018. The Seminar was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara and with the assistance of Director, Zonal Education Office Muthur.

Troops of the 22 Division organized a blood donation programe on 17 (Wednesday) at the Headquarters of 22 Division, Trincomalee. This commendable event was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara in response to a request made by Dr. R A Devarajah in charge of the Blood Blank Trincomalee. More than 150 Officers and Other Ranks voluntarily donated blood for use of patients in the Trincomalee Hospital.

A donation of school uniforms, dry rations and clothing items sponsored by Mr. Sanjaya Gunasekara and Mr. Tharaka Rathnaweera was successfully held at Mahasenpura Primary School, Welikanda on Friday (13) under the coordination of the Headquarters of 23 Division.

The troops of the 22 Division joined hands with the MOH office of Trincomalee conducted a two day Dengue Prevention Program on 13 and 14 July in Trincomalee town and gravets of Divisional Secretariat area of Trincomalee. It has been organized in parallel with the ongoing Island-wide Dengue Prevention Campaigns.

A Seminar on English and Economics was organized by the 222 Brigade in Kanthale for students who are going to sit for the G.C.E (Advance level) examination – 2018. It was held at the auditorium of Kanthale Central College on Friday (06). The aim of this seminar is to enhance the knowledge and prepare students for the forthcoming exam.
