CHINESE SHAOLIN KUNG FU SHOW WAS ORGANIZED BY THE SRI LANKA CHINA SOCIAL AND CULTURAL COOPERATION

Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between China and Sri Lanka, a Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu show consisting 25 warrior monks was organized by the Sri Lanka China Social and Cultural Cooperation. The show toured Sri Lanka for the first time. As part of the tour, a show was held in Polonnaruwa. 233 BRIGADE ORGANISED SERIES OF SCHOOL ITEMS DONATING PROGRAMS IN ITS AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

233 Brigade joined hands with Buddhist Society of the People’s Bank main branch Colombo to distribute school items for the needy children in 233 Brigade Area of Responsibility. Programs were conducted in Malvila area, Sandunpitiya area, Namalgama area in Welikanda and Vakarai area on 15 December 2017. \r\n\r\nAround 150 students were benefited from the project. Mr Preethi Kollonnage, the General Secretary of the Peoples Bank Buddhist Society main branch Colombo, and his members distributed the items.

233 BRIGADE LENDS HELPING HAND TO PREGNANT LADIES IN WELIKANDA

233 Brigade initiated, coordinated and organised a donation of needy items for fifty (50) pregnant women in the Welikanda area on 17 December 2017 at the Monarathanna Temple. Items were donated by “Bhauddha Ariya Padanama” of Maharagama. The pack comprised around items worth of Rs.5000.00. Blessing for the pregnant women was offered by the Ven D. Meththalankara Thero, Welikanda by chanting Pirith. The Chairperson of the Bhauddha Ariya Padanama Mr. Shammi Manoj and its members, and Civil Affairs Officer 23 Division distributed packs among the ladies.

22 DIVISION HELPS FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CONDUCT OF KOVIL POOJA

The troops of 22 Division extended their fullest support to conduct the annual Kovil Pooja at “Sri Durga Amman” Hindu Kovil Trincomalee on Tuesday (19). Prior to the event, the troops conducted a Sharmadana campaign to clear the surrounding of the Kovil premises together with devotees in the area.\r\n \r\nThe coordinating assistance was provided under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Maj Gen KPA Jayasekara WWV RSP USP ndc psc.

24 DIVISION CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS

In line with the forthcoming phenomenal Christmas, 24 Division Ampara conducted a Christmas Carols Service for the second consecutive year at H M Weerasinghe Stadium Ampara on 21 December 2017 commemorating Jesus Christ, the son of God.\r\n\r\nThe programme was held in collaboration with catholic priests of Church St. Ignatius Ampara and with the guidance of Maj Gen LM Mudalige General Officer Commanding 24 Division. COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) VISITS 3 (V) SLAWC

Commander Security Forces (E), Maj Gen Nandana Senadeera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu visited 3 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corp deployed in, Sandunpura Dehiaththakandiya on 22 June 2017.\r\nOn arrival, the visiting Comd SF (E) was given with a formal Guard Turnout at the entrance of Bn HQ and thereafter he was warmly welcomed by Maj L R T N Liyanage SLAWC, the Commanding Officer.\r\nDuring the visit, the Comd SF (E), planted a Mango sapling to mark his visit to 3 (V) SLAWC followed by a troops address and all ranks lunch. A newly constructed accommodation block (20 ’x 80’) has been declared open by the Comd SF (E) Maj Gen Nandana Senadeera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu with a view of enhancing the basic living standards of ORs deployed in SF HQ(E) farm Siddapura, Punani, on 27 Jun 2017.\r\n This building is among the series of construction works carried out to uplift the accommodation and other basic facilities of both Officers and ORs of SF HQ (East).
