A community based awareness programme on COVID 19 was underway in Kattankudy Town on (Friday) 07 to enlighten the public on symptoms, prevention and precautionary measures relating to the pandemic. The session was conducted by the troops of 11 (V) SLSR in liaison with Kattankudy Police Station under the direction of Major General NalinKoswatte the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division and with the supervision of Colonel Vijitha Hettiarachchi the Commander 231 Infantry Brigade.
Meanwhile, 16 persons were arrested and warned for not adhering the health guidelines and later, released after strict advice.
