The main underground water supply line to the Saindamaradu, Nindavur, and Akkareipattu, has emerged due to soil erosion in an area of 50 meters away from Midindupura area which belongs to the Ampara Water Supply and Drainage Board.

With the quick guidance of Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division and under the instructions of Brigadier LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP, Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, 00x18 troops from 24 Infantry Division and 02x15 troops from 11 Sri Lanka National Guard were dispatch to the place where the damage occurred to construct a sandbag bund along the Galoya bund to prevent the further damage.
