Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC, psc, and under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division, the troops of the 2nd (V) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, deployed under the 221 Infantry Brigade, organized a Vesak Rice and Curry Dansala as part of ongoing civil-military coordination efforts.
The Dansala was held along the Trincomalee road on 12 May 2025, Vesak Poya Day, near the Gokanna Temple and Koneswaram Hindu Temple premises, to serve devotees traveling during the Vesak season.
The event was recognized as one of the most glamorous and well-organized in the area in recent times, reflecting the strong bond between the military and the local community. More than 4,000 devotees visited the premises on the same day.
