At around 0430 pm on 22 June 23, fire broke out at the garbage dumping site in the Trincomalee Municipal Council located at Kanniya. At around 1030 hrs on 06 June 2023, a fire was occurred in scrap iron shop at Akkaraipattu town area which is belongs to 11 SLNG battalion under command to 241 Infantry Bridged. There was a risk of fire spreading nearby houses and shops in the area. With the instruction of the Commander 241 Infantry Bridged Colonel LSDN Pthirathna RSP USP, the troops of 241 Infantry Bridged and the 11 SLNG Battalion has been immediately taken action to prevent huge destruction by spreading fire, with the help of Akkaraipattu police, fire bridged unit, and the local residents.
