Simultaneous to the 74th Army Day festivities, the 7th Light Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, under the supervision of SFHQ (E), 23 Infantry Division, and 231 Infantry Brigade, initiated a community-oriented endeavor

Under the direction of the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General M K U P Gunaratne RSP psc ndu IG and General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc, with the noble objective of keeping both students and civilians are aware of dangerous consequences of use of illegal drugs. The awareness programme was conducted on 05 October 2023 at Vakarei MahaVidyalaya.

Around 0550 hrs on 01st October 2023, a fire broke out in the drug store and laboratory building of Thabalagamuwa Divisional Hospital. Troops of 15 SLLI were able to assist in mitigating the fire that broke out in the hospital drug store building with the support of police, fire fighting brigade and civilians in the area.

242 Infantry Brigade and 14 SLSR have organized a beach cleaning programme from Pothuvil Muhudu MahaViharaya beach premises to Arugambay beach premises on 15 Sep 2023. For this programme 01 x 15 troops participated and Pothuvil Municipal Council assisted to transport the garbage.

According to an information received by 7 Military Intelligence Corps troops, together with Suriyapura Special Task Force officials, a person was apprehended with 1.900 g of Methamphetamine (ICE) at Thabalagamuwa on 18 Sep 2023. Thereafter suspected person with illegal drugs were handed over to the Thabalagamuwa Police Station for further investigations.
