  • DISTRIBUTION OF STATIONARY ITEMS FOR WAR HEROES CHILDREN

    The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Engineers organized a donation programme to distribute stationary packs to children of war veterans. The programme was held on 25 December 2018 at Corps Headquarters and 100 children were provided with stationary items. The stationary packs were generously sponsored by Mr Prasad Kumara and Mrs Menaka Pathirana on the request made by the Major General DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc Colonel Commandant Corps of Engineers and Mrs Ajantha Hettiarrachchi President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Engineers.

  • ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 2018 OF SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS WAS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

    The Annual General Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held on 11 December 2018 at the Cinema Hall of Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna). The meeting was presided by the President Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs Ajantha Hettiarachchi. A guest lecture and a donation programme followed by a family get-together were some significant part of the event.

    During the AGM, tasks carried out in the present year were reviewed and the proposed plan for the upcoming year was discussed. Further, new office bearers were appointed for the coming year. The guest lecture on the “Role of Woman in the present Society” was delivered by senior counselor Mrs Ishama Kariyakarawana.

  • CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS ORGANIZED A BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME

    A Blood Donation campaign wasorganized by the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers to coincide with the 67th Corps Day Celebrations. As per the directions of the Colonel Commandant Major General DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc, the event was held at Corps Headquarters, in Panagoda on 23 October 2018. On the request made by the Corps of Engineers, the Staff of the National Cancer Hospital, Maharagama extended their support to make this event a success. A total of 200 x donors which included officers and Other Ranks of the Corps donated blood on this special occasion.

  • NEW BRIGADE COMMANDER ASSUMED DUTIES AS 18th COMMANDER ENGINEER BRIGADE

    Brigadier AN Amarasekara USP assumed duties as the 18th Commander of Engineer Brigade on Thursday, 04 October 2018 amidst religious activities. A series of official events including a guard turnout were organized at Engineer Brigade camp premises parallel to the taking over formalities.

  • CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS AT “INIKBITHI HETA” EXHIBITION

    The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers showcased it’s combat engineering and construction capabilities under taken thus far in pursuance of national development during the “Inikbithi Heta” exhibition held at Bodhiraja College Embiliptiya. It also featured the inherent capability of the Corps to superimpose engineering with management skill to deliver high return on investment.

  • SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDING PROGRAME IN MEMORY OF LATE MAJOR GENERAL JANAKA PERERA ORGANIZED BY THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF ENGINEERS

    The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a scholarship awarding programme for children of war veterans. The ceremony was held at the Lieutenant General NKB Angammana Memorial Hall on 06 July 2018.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF THE CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS ORGANIZED A LECTURE ON "THE ADVERSE EFFECT OF THE MOBILE PHONES WHICH RUINS A HAPPY FAMILY LIFE"

    Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a lecture titled "The adverse effect of the mobile phones which ruins a happy family life". The lecture was conducted at the Lieutenant General NKB Angammana Memorial Hall on 15 September 2018. The lecture was delivered by Mrs Menaka Pathirana the Deputy Director of Customer Complains and Consumer/Public Awareness at the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka. It was a thought provoking and an interactive session where the lecturer and the audience shared their experiences. Further, the lecturer explained the legal aspects related to the use of the mobile phones in the telecommunication field. At the conclusion of the lecture, Mrs Ajantha Hettiarachchi President of Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Engineers presented the lecturer with a gift in appreciation for her valuable time. The lecture was also attended by Officers and Other Ranks of the Corps.

  • SAPPER OFFICER BECOMES THE FIRST IN ORDER OF MERIT IN THE UNIT COMMAND COURSE - OCDC BUTTALA

    Major Namal Keerthisinghe of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers clinched the first in order of the merit in the Unit Command Course held at Officer Career Development Centre - Buttala from 01 May to 01 August 2018. The awarding ceremony was held on 03 August 2018 and the trophy for the first place awarded to the most outstanding officer and was presented by Brigadier D M D C C Gunawardana RWP USP ndc psc, the Commandant Officer Career Development Centre. 20 student officers who are potential to be appointed as the Commanding Officer appointment were participated in the course.

  • CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS CLINCH INTER REGIMENT(GROUP - B DIVISION) CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP - 2018

    Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers cricket team won the Army Inter Regiments(Group B Division) Cricket Championship - 2018 which was held from 23 June to 01 August 2018 with the participation of 17 teams. The finals was held at Muthukumaru Ground, Panagoda and Sappers cricket team emerged as champions beating Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps by 11 runs.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS EXTENDS FURTHER ASSISTANCE TO DIFEERENTLY ABLED WAR HEROES

    Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a ceremony on 9 June 2018 to offer donations to Differently Abled War Heroes of the regiment. The ceremony, held at the Convention Centre of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Army Cantonment, Panagoda, was headed by the President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Mrs Ajantha Hettiarrachchi as the Chief Guest.
