SAPPERS EXTEND HANDS OF HUMANITY TO HELP THE PEOPLE STRUGGLING DUE TO THE COVID-19

Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers are playing a vital role in responding against the Corona distress. As one of the classical Engineer Unit under the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, 12 Field Engineer Regiment contributes to this COVID-19 pandemic as front line responders by involving in disinfection, decontaminating the suspected areas/ persons/ vehicles and etc.

Apart from all these duties, under the supervision of Commanding Officer, 12 Field Engineer Regiment took the initiative to distribute dry rations to stranded people in the area after being deprived of their livelihood during the lockdown. Actions were taken place at;

• Maha Bodhi Child Girls’ Development Centre - Meegoda on 05th April 2020
• Sri Sambudu Viharaya - Grandpass on 08th April 2020
• Dry Rations donation to the Civil Servants of 12 Field Engineer Regiment
