4 (V) Engineer Regiment celebrated its 109th Anniversary by organizing series of religious and ceremonial activities during 13, 21, 22 and 23 February 2020 at the 4 (V) Engineer Regiment, Borupana. The entire programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of Commanding Officer of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment Major TMP Jalal SLE.
As the initial programme of the Anniversary celebration, Blood Donation programme was held at the camp premises on 13 February 2020 in order to bless the troops of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment and around 150 participated for the blood donation. Another significant event of the Anniversary celebration was pirith chanting ceremony and providing Arms giving to the Punyawardanaramaya temple - Ratmalana on 21 and 22 February 2020.
On 23 February 2020 The Commanding Officer of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment Major TMP Jalal SLE was accorded with a Guard Turnout and CO’s Parade by the troops of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment.
The celebration of 109th anniversary of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment was come to the end with an All Ranks Get together held at the camp premises of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment with the participation of Commanding Officer and all Ranks. On 25 February 2020 senior NCOs gathering was held at the WO & SGT mess of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment and as the final event of the Anniversary celebration Officers gathering was held at the Officers Mess of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment on 28 February 2020 with the participation of many senior officers including Chief Field Engineer Maj Gen H R K P Peiris VSV USP ndu, Commander Engineer Brigade Brigadier A N Amarasekara USP ndu, Director Training Of The Sri Lanka Army Brig I H M N N Herath RSP USP psc, Director Staff Duties (DSD) Brig W M G C S B Wijeyasundera RSP USP ndu , Commander Nation Building Task Force And The Plant Engineer Brigade Brigadier NPA Gunawardena RSP, Deputy Director Of Veterans Affairs Brig D P Jayasinghe RSP , SF HQ (WEST) Brigadier Coord (Volunteer) Brig JDCG Jayasinghe ,Centre Commandant Of Corps Of Sri Lanka Engineers Colonel M Mayadunna RSP USP , Deputy Centre commandant Of Corps Of Sri Lanka Engineers Col S D P C Arachchige , GSO I - RHQ SLE Lt Col P S J Fernando USP SLE , LOG I - RHQ SLE Lt Col C M Liyanage SLE were participated for the event as invitees and as the chief guest Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of Corps Of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen HJS Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc participated to this significant event.
