  • OFFICESRS AND SOLDIERS OF MALDIVIAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE SHOWS KEEN INTEREST TO LEARN BOMB AND IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE DISPOSAL TRAINING

    The Officers and soldiers of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) have shown their keen interest to learn technical know-how of Bomb and Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (BEEDED) during the basic course conducted at MNDF Central Area Headquarters, Khadhoo in Maldives. The student participants constituted with three Officers and thirty two Other Ranks representing various services of MNDF. The SLA instructor team is highly impressed on the eagerness and dedication shown by the student participants equally during practical and theoretical training sessions.

  • WORKSHOP ON POSITIVE ATTITUDE BUILDING FOR MIDDLE GRADE SAPPER OFFICERS

    One-day workshop was organized at the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers for middle grade sapper officers to highlight the importance of Positive Attitude. The workshop was steered by the Lieutenant Colonel Wasantha Pamunuwa (Retired), Director Consultant of Segue Consultancy Services on the topic of “Positive Attitude Building” on 16 October 2019 at the Angammana Auditorium.

  • THE PRESIDENT SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF ENGINEERS VISITED ANURADAPURA AND IPALOGAMA WIRU KEKULU PRE-SCHOOLS

    Mrs Sagara Gunawardena, the President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers visited Anuradapura and Ipalogama Wiru Kekulu Pre-Schools on 02 October 2019 to mark the World Children’s Day. She is in charge of both the Pre-Schools and presently 358 children attend to them. At the event, she distributed sweet packs to all the children, donated by Ceylon Biscuits Limited.

  • CADETS OF SLMA CADET OFFICER INTAKE 88, LADY INTAKE 16 (V) AND 17 (V) VISITED SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING

    68 Officer Cadets of Intake 88, Lady Intake 16 (V) and 17 (V) presently under training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa paid an scholastic visit to Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering on 16 September 2019. The Chief Instructor extended a warm welcome to the Cadet Officers and instructors on their arrival at Headquarters SLSME.

  • THE APPRECIATION OF ARMY BOMB DISPOSAL TEAMS BY CIVIL COMMUNITIES

    The Bomb Disposal Teams of the Corps of Engineers conducted their operation within twenty-four hours to prevent another bomb blast in the country soon after the bomb attacks conducted by extremist terrorists on 21st April 2019 which dragged the country in to tense situation. It was highly effected to the livelihood and day to today activities including trading and the economy of the country.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF ENGINEERS BIDS FAREWELL FOR OUTGOING CHAIRPERSON MRS AJANTHA HETTIARRACHCHI

    The farewell hosted to the outgoing Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held at Corps Headquarters, Panagoda on 17 August 2019. A monthly meeting has been organized coinciding with the event. Day’s events commenced with an enlightening guest lecture conducted by Dr Sanath Gamage on “Eight Facts Theory”. Monthly meeting was headed by Mrs Sagara Gunawardena and new office bearers were appointed.

  • NEW CHAIRPERSON CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ASSUMES OFFICE

    Mrs Sagara Gunawardena assumed office as the new President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch during a charming ceremony held at the Headquarters Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 29 July 2019. On her arrival at the Corps Headquarters the new president was warmly welcomed by the senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch. Mrs Sagara Gunawardena assumed duties at Seva Vanitha Office amidst chanting of Seth Pirith by “Maha Sanga”. After assuming the office, all members greeted the new chairperson extending their warm wishes.

  • NEW CHIEF FIELD ENGINEER SRI LANKA ARMY ASSUMES OFFICE AT MATHTHEGODA

    Major General Thissa Nanayakkara during a simple ceremony, but affluent with military formalities assumed the office of the Chief Field Engineer (CFE) of Sri Lanka Army, Chief Field Engineer Headquarters at Mattegoda on 10 July 2019. He succeeded Major General Kumara Peiris who relinquished his office after performing a notable service as the CFE and is now appointed as the MGO Army Headquarters.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF ENGINEERS ORGANIZED A TREE PLANTING CEREMONY AT WILPATTU

    As per the directions of the Colonel Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a Tree Planting Ceremony at Wilpattu National Park. The event was held on 29 June 2019 headed by Mrs Ajantha Hettiarrachchi, the President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Engineers. A much needed donation, consisted of six thousand-liter plastic water tanks, hundred PVC pipes and over one ton compost fertilizer were donated to the Wilpattuwa Reforestation Project. The President and the members of the Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch, Major General Senarath Bandara General Officer Commanding 54 Division and Officers graced the occasion.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS EXTENDS SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF WAR HEROES BY DONATING NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSES

    A deceased soldier’s family and a soldier sustained injuries due to a landmine explosion at Muhamalai, Jaffna were given new houses and the keys were handed over after simple ceremonies held at those premises itself on 08 June 2019.
