Under Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Atul Khary visited the MINUSMA District East Headquarters - Gao on Tuesday (12) December 2023 to witness the current progression of the drawdown process of the UN peacekeeping duties and the handing over of the German Camp Castor which were excessively used by the UN peacekeeping forces to the Government of Mali authorities. During this visit, a guard of honor was presented by the 5th Combat convoy company as per the UN guidelines.

A "Technical Capabilities Development" programme was introduced for the troops serving at 14th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company in UNIFIL Lebanon on Tuesday (16) December 2023 with the objective of training soldiers on domestic technical applications. This short course is conducted as a weekend course for a one month of period without affecting to the troops' routing duties at UNIFIL.
