THE CONTINGENT COMMANDER OF 15TH SRI LANKA FORCE PROTECTION COMPANY IN UNIFIL ASSUMES DUTIES

Lieutenant Colonel D.K.D Vithanage RSP VIR assumed duties as the Contingent Commander of 15th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (FPC) in UNIFIL on Friday (05) April 2024 at Sri Base Camp in Naqoura.

The newly appointed Contingent Commander placed his signature on a formal document after a brief religious observance as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command. All Officers and few Other Ranks of the contingent extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Contingent Commander for his future endeavors.

The Sri Lankan FPC is mandated to provide security to the Headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Naqoura, provide security and escorts for VIPs and control all the movement passing through the camp gates. This contingent consists of 125 Army personnel including 11 Officers and 114 Other Ranks.
