14TH SLFPC CONTINGENT RETURNS FROM LEBANON AFTER THEIR TENURE

The 14th contingent of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) returned to the island on Tuesday (02) April 2024 upon completion of their service tenure in the UNIFIL. The 14th SLFPC contingent consists of 10 Officers and 115 Other Ranks, commanded by Colonel D.P.I.T Kaluaggala RSP USP IG.

A UN-chartered Ethiopian Airlines flight (ET 8802) landed at Bandaranaike international Airport at 2300 hrs where the contingent was warmly welcomed by Maj General B.K.G.M Rodrigo RSP psc IG the Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College and the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Brigadier K.A.D.N.R Kannangara RSP IG the Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Colonel P P C Perera Colonel Overseas Operations and a gathering of Officers and Other Ranks.

Afterwards, the contingent troops were subjected to do HIV, VDRL and FFI tests.
