FALL OUT CEREMONY OF INTAKE 92A

The Fall Out Ceremony of four Officer Cadets trained at the Sri Lanka Military Academy under Intake 92A was held SLMA. The ceremony consisted of a few significant activities such as a Final Presentation, CO’s Cocktail Party and Pipping Ceremony.

The first activity was unfolded on 28 June 2024 with the conduct of their Final Presentation on ‘The Falklands War’ at Colonel Fazley Laphir Auditorium, in order to demonstrate their ability in exploring a subject area and their analytical skills. The comprehensive presentation was attended by the Commanding Officer-Officer Cadet Wing, Colonel AMDB Adhikari RWP RSP psc along with senior officers and officers of the SLMA. Then, a Cocktail Party was hosted at the Officer Cadets’ Mess with the participation of the Commanding Officer, Officer Commanding, Adjutant and Course Officers of the intake.

On 2 July 2024, a charming ‘Pipping Ceremony’ was held at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium with the participation of their parents and family members. This special event was graced by the Commandant of SLMA, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP psc as the Chief Guest along with the Deputy Commandant, all Wing Heads and Officers of the Military Academy. By addressing the newly commissioned officers and their parents, the Commandant complimented the parents’ generosity in gifting their children to the Army and underscored the important role of junior officers as self-directed personalities for a fledging Army.

These officers were commissioned into Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Gajaba Regiment, Military Intelligence Corps and Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineery Regiment, based on their preferences and performance. The Fallout Ceremony reached its end with a traditional tea party, arranged for the parent and family members of newly commissioned officers and other participants at the Lobby of the Headquarters Complex. With warm congratulations, these four officers joined the Officer Corps of the Sri Lanka Army to discharge their services for the Army and the Nation.
