  • New Agri Welfare shop Opened at Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Regimental Headquarter Premises Karandeniye

    Newly constructed Welfare shop of the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Regimental Headquarters Karandeniya was declared open by the Centre Commandant of SLACAL Brigadier RMJB Ratnayaka RSP on 2nd August 2022 in a simple ceremony.

  • CENTRE COMMANDANT VISITED TO 3(V) SLACAL-KANDAKADU

    Regimental Centre Commandant Brigadier RMJB Rathnayaka RSP made a formal visit to 3(V) SLACAL Kandakadu on 22 & 23 July 2022. Lt Col BMTA Baddewela RSP PSC IG , the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Brig RMJB Rathnayaka RSP on arrival and a subsequent Ceremonial Guard Turnout was awarded at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Then the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the state of Administration, General and Log Matters. Subsequently he planted a Mango sapling to mark his visit to 3 (V) SLACAL .Centre Commandant visited to inspect the ORs accommodation area, ORs Mess, Rice Mill project, Milk project and Cattle shed.Later, Brig RMJB Rathnayaka RSP delivered his speech and convince all to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their career and adjust to the prevailing situation of the country. At the end of his address the Commanding Officer presented a memento to mark his visit. Before concluding the day’s itinerary, Centre Commandant visited Chili project, Aquarium project and Coconut Plant & Plant Nursery. During the second day of the visit Centre Commandant visited to Army farm Galkanda and addressed the troops at Army farm Galkanda.

  • TO EXPEDITE THE AWARENESS PROGRAMME OF BASIC AGRICULTURE AROUND THE COUNTRY 6 SLACAL AND 5 (V) SLACAL CONDUCTED ONE DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMMES IN 1 CORPS -KILINOCHCHI AND 51 DIVISION- JAFFNA

    As a supportive mechanism to the government’s cultivation drive is spearheaded by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army has appointed Green Agriculture Steering Committee of the Army (GASC) on Thursday (16) June 2022 in order to supplement and promote the island’s food security programme by cultivating more than 1500 acres of barren or abandoned state lands across the country. With that as per the guidance of Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock One day Basic Agriculture Awareness programmes were conducted in 1 Corps Kilinochchi and 51 Division Jaffna with the participation of more than 250 troops (Officers and ORs) on 06 July 2022. Lectures were conducted in 1 Corps by Maj WTU Perera 2IC - 6 SLACAL, 2/Lt HR Jayadewa.Maj WAPD Fonseka 2IC - 5(V) SLACAL counducted lectures in 51 Division. To expedite the ongoing nation building task in the field of Green Agriculture in Sri Lanka and mainly focusing on to protect the Island's food security these awareness programmes were organizing by Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock units to cover all around the country.

  • BASIC AGRICULTURE AWARENESS PROGRAMME WAS CONDUCTED BY 5 (V)SLACAL FOR THE TROOPS IN TAOR OF SFHQ(JAFFNA)

With that as per the guidance of Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Basic Agriculture Awareness programme was conducted in SFHQ (Jaffna) Cinema Hall with the participation of 16 Officers and 200 ORs under Security Force HQ(Jaffna) on 30th June 2022. Lectures were conducted by Maj WAPD Fonseka 2IC - 5(V) SLACAL and PO MSM Azam. This awareness programme was organized on the directions of Major General WMGCSB Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu Commander - Security Forces (Jaffna).

  • Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Inaugurates Stage 1 of Maize Cultivation in Niraviya Farm

    The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, making great strides by throwing its full weight behind the government's food security programme began its Stage 1 of Maize Cultivation Project on 27th June 2022 at Niraviya Army Farm at Thambuttegama during a simple inaugural ceremony, attended by Major General Jagath Kodituwakku, Chief of Staff representing the Commander of the Army. The Stage 1 of Maize Cultivation Project, set to cover 500 acres in total commenced the project covering 100 acres of land at first in this Army-owned Niraviya Farm, managed by the Army Directorate of Agriculture and Livestocks (Dte of A & L). As recent as 16 June 2022, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, embarking upon this gigantic project of national and timely importance established the Army's Green Agriculture Steering Committee (GASC) in order to supplement and promote the island’s food security programme by cultivating more than 1500 acres of barren or derelict state lands across the country after the government offered more lands to the Army for cultivation. Upon his arrival, Major General Jagath Kodituwakku, Chief of Staff was received by Brigadier Arosha Rajapaksha, Director, Dte of A & L who afterwards invited the day's Chief Guest to uncover the name-board to the effect of the project in the specific designated area for Maize cultivation. After a while, the Chief of Staff, together with a gathering of Army personnel inaugurated the Stage 1 of the project by planting several maize saplings at the location. Several Senior officers including Major General Shiran Abeysekara, Colonel Commandant SLACAL and Director General Financial Management, Major General Indu Samarakoon, Army Logistic Commander took part in the day's inaugural ceremony.

  • DIRECTOR AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK VISITS TO 5(V) SLACAL-JAFFNA.

    The Director Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier Arosha Rajapaksha RSP made a formal visit to 5(V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock , Jaffna on 27th June 2022. The Director A & L was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Leuitenet Colonel WPK Samaranayake psc SLA at 5(V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock. The Director A & L was briefed on technical functioning of the 5(V) SLACAL by the Commanding Officer.After the COs briefing Director Agriculture and Livestock participated for the all ranks tea party and Director addressed the troops at 5(V) SLACAL.Finally Director visited SF (J) army farm and end the visit.

  • SECOND BASIC AGRICULTURE AWARENESS PROGRAMME WAS CONDUCTED BY 6 SLACAL IN TAOR OF SFHQ(MLT)

    As a supportive mechanism to the government’s cultivation drive is spearheaded by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army has appointed Green Agriculture Steering Committee of the Army (GASC) on Thursday (16) June 2022 in order to supplement and promote the island’s food security programme by cultivating more than 1500 acres of barren or abandoned state lands across the country. With that as per the guidance of Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock and under the supervision of Directorate of Agriculture & Livestock first Basic Agriculture Awareness programme was conducted in 59 Div Battalion Training School with the participation of 133 troops (Officers and ORs) under Security Force HQ, 59 Div, 64 Div,68 Div,FMA( Mulathiu) on 27th June 2022. Lectures were conducted by Maj WTU Perera 2IC - 6 SLACAL, 2/Lt AT Shan,2/Lt HR Jayadewa, PO BGR Madushanka, PO MPSH Dias. This was the second phase of an ongoing nation building task in the field of Green Agriculture in Sri Lanka and this awareness programme was organized on the directions of Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu Commander - Security Forces (Mullaittivu).

  • DIRECTOR AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK OPNED A NEW RICE MILLING CENTRE AT ARMY FARM KANDAKADU.

    The Director Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier Arosha Rajapaksha RSP made technical inspection visit to 3(V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock , Kandakadu on 24th June 2022. The Director Agriculture and Livestock was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel BMTA Baddewela RSP psc IG SLA at 3 (V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock. In view of the current economic crisis in the country, Another phase of Green Agriculture Steering Committee the Director, Agriculture and Livestock inaugurated a new Rice Milling Centre on 24th June 2022 at the 3(V)rd Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock - Kandakadu with the objective of ensuring food security in the country. This is to be implemented in the future under the full supervision of the Sri Lanka Army Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock and the new machine here will be able to produce eighteen thousands of kilos of rice per day. As Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Regiment we are pleased to announce that with the introduction of this new Rice Milling Centre by the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, we will be able to provide rice milling facilities to civilians in the future.
