  • CENTRE COMMANDANT SLACAL VISITS TO ARMY FARM MANIC FARM,ADIYAPULIYANKUM AND 4(V) SLACAL-MAHAWA.

    The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier RMSJ Ratnayaka RSP made a formal visit to Army Farm Manicfarm,Adiyapuliyankum and 4(V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock , Nochchiyagama on 19th June 2022. The Centre Commandant was accorded with a drive pass and welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel MMDSK Bandara psc SLAC at Army Farm Manicfarm. The Centre Commandant was briefed on administrative functioning of the Army Farm Manicfarm and Adiyapuliyankum by the Commanding Officer.After the COs briefing Centre Commandant participated for the all ranks tea party and Centre Commandant addressed the troops at Army Farm Manicfarm and Adiyapuliyankum together. During the troops address Centre Commandant appreciated the training,working standards and facilities available at Army Farm Manicfarm, Adiyapuliyankum under 4(V) SLACAL and also appreciated the Commanding Officer and all ranks for the effort they have taken to maintain and uplift the administrative functions of Army Farms. During the visit, the Centre Commandant inspected the infrastructure facilities and accommodation facilities belong to the Army Farms. At the end of the day’s proceedings, the Centre Commandant visited 4(V) SLACAL Nochchiyagama and Centre Commandant has planted a mango sapling to mark his visit at 4 (V) SLACAL.

    The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier RMSJ Ratnayaka RSP made a formal visit to 1 Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock , Mahawa on 17th June 2022. The Centre Commandant was accorded with a drive pass and welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel HVKW Abeywickrama USP SLA. The Centre Commandant has planted a Mango sapling to mark his visit and he was briefed on administrative functioning of the 1 SLACAL by the Commanding Officer.After the COs briefing Centre Commandant participated for the all ranks tea party. During the troops address Centre Commandant appreciated the training,working standards and facilities available at 1 SLACAL and also appreciated the Commanding Officer and all ranks for the effort they have taken to maintain the camp in a good shape as a newly established battalion in Sri Lanka Army. During the visit, the Centre Commandant inspected the infrastructure facilities and accommodation facilities belong to the Unit. Genaral Staff Officer 1 RHQ SLACAL Lt Col AMVD Abeysinghe RSP USP IG SLA also participated for this visit.   • LT COL NISHANTHA MUTHTHANTHIRIGE ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE FIRST COMMANDANT OF SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK

    The Commander of the Army has approved the raising instructions of the School of Agriculture and Livestock with effects from 11 March 2022. Adding another historical page to the Corps of Agriculture history Lieutenant Colonel Nishantha Muththanthirige assumed duties as the first Commandant of School of Agriculture and Livestock in Aralaganwila, on 08th June 2022

  • 20 ACRES HYBRID CHILLI PROJECT WAS KICKED OFF BY 6 SLACAL IN COLLABORATION WITH HJS KONDIMAN (PVT) LTD

    New agricultural project was started on 10th June 2022 by Commanding Officer of 6 SLACAL at Kottikattiyarkulam Army farm, which is controlled by newly established 6th battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock. Based on the contract signed with HJS Kondiman (Pvt) Ltd under the group of Hayleys Agriculture, the purpose of this project is to contribute for the Agricultural production in the country to face the rising food crisis in the country. Under that agreement 20 acres of land will be cultivated with hybrid chilli variety MICHNY 01 to produce and marketing of dry Chilli. This Agriculture Project is under supervision by Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock. Necessary inputs such as seeds, irrigation systems, technical support and machinery will be provided by the HJS condimen pvt Ltd and labour force and supervision will be provided by 6SLACAL.   • AGRO'S New Welfare Shop and Cafe Opened at Akkarayankulam, Kilinochchi

    Considering the importance of supplying subsidized Grocery items,Food & Beverages to both Army and civil personnel in the area, the 6th battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (6 SLACAL) inaugurated its ‘Agros’ Welfare Shop’ as the first phase of the newly raised battalion development strategy plan. It was opened in a simple ceremony by Lt Col ASB Hapuwinna , Commanding Officer 6 SLACAL , on 09th June 2022. The new welfare shop supplies all Grocery items, Food and Beverages at concessionary rates and remains open till late in the evening. The opening event was attended by all Officers and Other Ranks of 6 SLACAL.

  • CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF FOURTH BASIC AGRICULTURE COURSE AT KARANDENIYA

    In parallel to the basic courses conducting in School of Agriculture Aralaganwila all agriculture battalions also conducting the same basic course in units as per the instructions of Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP. The "Basic Agriculture Course No - 4 conducted by 2 (V) SLACAL in Karandeniya was ended on 06th June 2022 and course duration was one month. Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL), Brigadier Janaka Ratnayake RSP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A batch of 60 Other Ranks successfully completed the course and received their certificates from the Chief Guest. The course curriculam included with Organic Farming, Crop Cultivation, Food Preservation, Machinery, Animal Husbandry, Value Added Animal Feed Products. Lt Col AMVD Abeysinghe RSP USP IG SLA GSO 1 RHQ SLACAL and Maj WAND Jayasundara Commanding Officer 2(V) SLACAL also participated in the event. First in Order of Merit - S/W01877 Pvt Kumara RMMNS 2(V) SLACAL.

  • THE FOURTH AGRICULTURE COURSE CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY AT 6 SLACAL-AKKARAYANKULAM

    The Basic Agriculture course No 4 conducted by 6 SLACAL in Akkarayankulam was completed on 4 June 2022 and course duration was one month. The Commanding Officer of 6 SLACAL Lt Col ASB Hapuwinna USP psc SLAC graced the occasion as the chief guest. 43 Other Ranks successfully completed the course and received their certificates.The course curriculum included with Organic farming, crops cultivation, Food preservation, Machinery, Animal husbandry and value added animal feed products. 1st in Order of Merit :- S/753565 L/Cpl Thilakarathna TMNB ESR

  • NEW CULTURAL DANCING TROUPE WAS INTRODUCED BY 4 (V) SLACAL.

    A new Cultural Dancing troupe was introduced by 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock on 01 June 2022 at camp premises Amunukole, Nochchiyagama.This troupe was formed under the close supervision and guidance of former Commanding Officer Lt Col ASD Pathiraja of 4 (V) SLACAL.
