13,000 Coconut seed germination project was started on 27th February 2022 at Niraviya Army Farm with the assistance of the Coconut development authority. Director Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier AK Rajapaksa RSP was participated for the event with the invitation of Lt Col HVKW Abeywickrama USP Commanding Officer 1 Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.

Centre Commandant RHQ SLACAL , Brigadier Bandula Liyanage made his initial field visit to the, 6 Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock -Akkarayankulam on 07 February 2022. This is a Regular Battalion which is going to raise in the near future. 2IC designated 6 CAL Maj WTU Perera conducted a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing works of the new establishment. Centre Commandant visited the camp premises and addressed the troops in the camp.

The "Basic Agriculture Course No - 2 conducted by 2 (V) SLACAL in Karandeniya was ended on 18 February 2022 and course duration was one month. Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL), Brigadier Bandula Liyanage RSP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A batch of 2 x Lady officers and 29 womens successfully completed the course and received their certificates from the Chief Guest. The course curriculam included with Organic Farming, Crop Cultivation, Food Preservation, Machinery, Animal Husbandry, Value Added Animal Feed Products.

Members of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha branch visited the Umandawa Maha Vihara Ashram on 18th November 2021. The event was graced by the President Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Mrs. Shanthi Abeysekera and spouses of Officers and Other Ranks. A presentation on functions of Umandawa Maha Viharaya as well as organic vegetable cultivation is outlined.

The Second Basic Agriculture course was started today at Agriculture Training School -Aralaganwila. Four newly commissioned Officers and 49 ORs were participated for the course. Lt Col DLCN Muththanthirige the Commanding Officer 3 (V) SLACAL graced the event and conducted the opening address for the course at the School of Agriculture - Aralaganwila.
