INTRODUCTION
RASING OF SECOND BATTALION OF SRI LANKA ARMY AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK (2nd Bn SLACAL)
This battalion was raised on 10 th october 2010 at PANAGODA cantonment under the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps & battalion redeployed on 09 th march 2011 at KohilaWaguruwaththa. The battalion was established for the Purpose of development and continuation of Army farms as well as regimental farms. According to the national policy of present government, this battalion has converted as the 2nd Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock on 25th January 2021. At the initial stage of this newly converted battalion there were mainly three Army farms named Army Farm Kohilawagurawaththa , Army Farm Yala Palatupana & Agriculture Project Baththaramulla. Presently another Army farm was added to this battalion named as Ridiyagama Army farm. now there are four Army farms under commanded by 2 (V) SLACAL.
First Commanding Officer of the Second battalion SLACAL was Maj WAND Jayasundara VIR after converting this battalion as second 2 (V) SLACAL.

Presently, JCK Subasinghe 2(V) SLACAL is performing duties as the Second Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock.
