  • 31 Other Ranks of SLACAL were promoted to the next higher ranks in mark of National War Heroes Day

    31 Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock were promoted to next higher rank. There were 4 Sergeants, 18 Corporals and 9 Lance Corporals to mark the 13 th War Heroes Day of Sri Lanka Army. The Colonel Commandant, all officers and Other Ranks of SLACAL extend warm wishes for those promoted. The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock handle the mechanism to empower the agrarian sector by increasing the country's agricultural production under systematic and strategic plan.

  • THE REGIMENTAL CENTRE OF SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK HELD SECOND COMMANDING OFFICERS’ CONFERENCE

    COs conference held by the Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock on 13 May 2022 via Virtual meeting at RHQ SLACAL Karandeniya. The meeting was host by Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP and Director Agriculture and Livestock ,Centre Commandant SLACAL ,Grade I Staff Officers of Regimental Centre and all Commanding Officers were present at the meeting through Virtual meeting and discuss the all relevant unit matters. SLACAL CO’s conference is held Biannual as directed by Colonel Commandant of the Regiment, aim to streamline and functioning proper administration of all aspects of units. Proactive plans were devised at the forum to uplift the regiment’s employment in the present era on a par with changing trends in different situations. Special concern was paid at the utilization of electricity, water and fuel allocation and Colonel Commandant clearly instructed all senior officers to utilize these with a proper management system to reduce the wastage in Sri Lanka Army.

  • BASIC AGRICULTURE COURSE FOR THE TROOPS OF 5 (V) SLACAL WAS COMMENCED TODAY AT KURUMBASIDDY – JAFFNA

    As per the instructions of Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP the Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Basic Agriculture course for 20 Other Ranks was started toady at 5 (V) SLACAL Kurumbasiddy- Jaffna.The main intention of this course is to give a basic agriculture knowledge for the students who are going to start another chapter of Agriculture Corps and train the troops for enrolled them in agriculture role and task. Lieutenant Colonel WPK Samaranayake psc SLA 1st Commanding Officer of newly raised battalion 5 (V) SLACAL graced the event and conducted the opening address for the course. Course will conduct from 11 May to 11 June 2022(One Month) . Lectures will be conducted by Maj WVAPD Fonseka 2IC 5 (V) SLACAL , Capt EKIG Kumara and PO MNS Azam during the course.

  • 6 SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK COMMENCE 4TH BASIC AGRICULTURE COURSE - AKKARAYANKULAM, KILINOCHCHI

  • THE THIRD BASIC AGRICULTURE COURSE COMMENCE AT 1 SLACAL - MAHAWA

    The 3rd Basic Agriculture course was commenced on 05th May 2022 at 1 SLACAL - Mahawa. Lieutenant Colonel H V K W Abeywickrama USP the Commanding Officer of 1 SLACAL graced the event and conducted the opening address for the course.There are 60 students participating for the course. Lectures will be conducted by Maj DMHC Kumarathilaka andCapt HGJP Kumara during the course. Course will conduct from 05th May 2022 to 05th June 2022(One Month) . It has been planned to conduct Advance Agriculture course and Agriculture Specialized course in near future in order to uplift and enhance the agriculture knowledge of the Officers and Other Ranks in the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.

  • THE FOURTH BASIC AGRICULTURE COURSE COMMENCE AT 2(V) SLACAL - KARANDENIYA ON 04TH MAY 2022.

    Increased productivity- Training improves efficiency and productivity of employees. Well trained employees show both quantity and quality performance. There is less wastage of time, money and resources if employees are properly trained.By keeping that concept in forefront Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock conducting more Basic, Advanced and Specialized courses for the Officers and Other Ranks in the Corps of Agriculture. In parallel to the Agriculture course at Aralaganwila training school 4th Basic Agriculture course was started with the opening address of Maj KMMA Bandara 2IC 2(V) SLACAL.There are 60 students participating for one month course.Lt APSN Wasalathilaka will be the course assisting officer and lectures will be conducted by Capt WGNP Madusanka and Lt APSN Wasalathilaka.Course will conduct from 4th May 2022 to 2nd June 2022.

  • THE FOURTH BASIC AGRICULTURE COURSE COMMENCE AT SRI LANKA ARMY SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK- ARALAGANWILA

    The Fourth Basic Agriculture course was commenced on 25 April 2022 at School of Agriculture and Livestock at Aralaganwila. 60 students are participating for the course. Lieutenant Colonel DLCN Muththanthirige the Commanding Officer 3 (V) SLACAL graced the event and conducted the opening address for the course at the School of Agriculture and Livestock- Aralaganwila.

    The Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP has made visit to newly formed 6th Battalion of

    SLACAL in Akkarayankulam Kilinochchi on the dawn of Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 14 April and joined with troops to celebrate Avurudu & Tea. Further he addressed the troops during his visit also visited newly acquired land on cultivation

    at Vanneriyakulam and inspected the feasibility of development of land to more Agriculture.
