New agricultural project was started on 10th June 2022 by Commanding Officer of 6 SLACAL at Kottikattiyarkulam Army farm, which is controlled by newly established 6th battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock. Based on the contract signed with HJS Kondiman (Pvt) Ltd under the group of Hayleys Agriculture, the purpose of this project is to contribute for the Agricultural production in the country to face the rising food crisis in the country. Under that agreement 20 acres of land will be cultivated with hybrid chilli variety MICHNY 01 to produce and marketing of dry Chilli. This Agriculture Project is under supervision by Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock. Necessary inputs such as seeds, irrigation systems, technical support and machinery will be provided by the HJS condimen pvt Ltd and labour force and supervision will be provided by 6SLACAL. Considering the importance of supplying subsidized Grocery items,Food & Beverages to both Army and civil personnel in the area, the 6th battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (6 SLACAL) inaugurated its ‘Agros’ Welfare Shop’ as the first phase of the newly raised battalion development strategy plan. It was opened in a simple ceremony by Lt Col ASB Hapuwinna , Commanding Officer 6 SLACAL , on 09th June 2022. The new welfare shop supplies all Grocery items, Food and Beverages at concessionary rates and remains open till late in the evening. The opening event was attended by all Officers and Other Ranks of 6 SLACAL.

The Commander of the Army has approved the raising instructions of the School of Agriculture and Livestock with effects from 11 March 2022. Adding another historical page to the Corps of Agriculture history Lieutenant Colonel Nishantha Muththanthirige assumed duties as the first Commandant of School of Agriculture and Livestock in Aralaganwila, on 08th June 2022.

In parallel to the basic courses conducting in School of Agriculture Aralaganwila all agriculture battalions also conducting the same basic course in units as per the instructions of Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP. The "Basic Agriculture Course No - 4 conducted by 2 (V) SLACAL in Karandeniya was ended on 06th June 2022 and course duration was one month. Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL), Brigadier Janaka Ratnayake RSP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A batch of 60 Other Ranks successfully completed the course and received their certificates from the Chief Guest. The course curriculam included with Organic Farming, Crop Cultivation, Food Preservation, Machinery, Animal Husbandry, Value Added Animal Feed Products. Lt Col AMVD Abeysinghe RSP USP IG SLA GSO 1 RHQ SLACAL and Maj WAND Jayasundara Commanding Officer 2(V) SLACAL also participated in the event. First in Order of Merit - S/W01877 Pvt Kumara RMMNS 2(V) SLACAL.

Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock on Monday 30th May 2022 in a fitting goodbye ceremony at the Regimental Centre in Karandeniya bid farewell to Brig GB Liyanage RSP , first Centre Commandant of SLACAL retired from the Army after a distinguished career of more than 33 years of service. The outgoing Centre Commandant being honoured with a Guard Turnout presented at the entrance and accompanied to the salute of the proud, dignified military guard of honour. Afterwards Brig GB Liyanage RSP handed over his duties at his office after participating to the group photo with all ranks of RHQ SLACAL. Later participating for the all ranks tea party, he addressed the troops at the office building and recalled his memories while expressing deepest gratitude to the troops who supported during his tenure as the first Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock. He also urged them to continue their commitment in the same spirit whilst safeguarding the reputation of the organization. The programme was terminated with all officers and Other Ranks were aligned on Street Lining to extend best wishes on the outgoing senior officer

Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Inter Battalion Volleyball Tournament - 2022 was organized with the objective of developing interaction between mutual battalions and selecting many talented and potential players of the Army and grooming them further for forthcoming Army Inter Regiment Volleyball tournaments in order to gain competitive exposure. This was commenced on 17 May 2022 and continued until 20 May 2022. The final award of trophies to the winners, got underway at 2 (V) SLACAL Ground – Karandeniya on Friday 20 May 2022 morning amid limited gathering. The Chief Guest of the event was Brigadier G B Liyanage RSP, the Centre Commandant SLACAL. Finals were played between 6 SLACAL and 4(V) SLACAL. 4(V) SLACAL won the match by winning three games out of four games.6 SLACAL won the second place. S/W00475 Lance Corporal Wijesiri UBSP 4 (V) SLACAL selected as the man of the series. The Chief Guest gave away the awards to winners in the competitions and extended his praise and appreciation to all members of the teams and organizing committee.
