2nd Gajaba Regiment located in Trincomalee under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in Security Forces (East) area organized a "Shramadhana Campaign" to clear the surrounding of Dhevapremaye Dheva sabhava church at Anuradapura Junction on 24 July 2014.

12th Gajaba Regiment located in Kalladi under the 231 Brigade of 23 Division in Security Forces (East) area organized a Grand level $IFTHAR" programme with an aim to enhance the relationship with the Muslim community, in Manmunai area on 23rd July 2014.

Two days Human Resource training programme was conducted by the Human Resource Center and University of Colombo, for the officers who are serving under the Security forces (East) area on 24.07.2014 and 25.07.2014 at SF HQ (East). The training programme was organized under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Lal Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG.

With the direction of Commander Security Forces East Major General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG, the Basic Computer Course No 03 was commenced on 03 July 2014 at Headquarters Security Forces East Walikanda in association with Oriant Academy Limited for clerks and officers stationed at Security Forces East area. The course concluded on 28 July 2014 and the closing address was conducted by Brigadier KLAS Wijesinghe RWP RSP plc , the Brigadier General Staff - Security Forces East .

A Cricket tournament was held in Ampara district in accordant with a concept of Maj General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG Comd Security Force (East) with the motive of promoting peace and harmony between Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim Communities in the area. Several sport clubs inclusive of school sport clubs competed against each other in this tournament. Kalmunei Zahira College team and Akkaripattu Kalleivattam Sport Club were champions in Inter Schools Sport Clubs and Inter Sport Clubs respectively at Addlachchanai Public Stadiums on 29 th July 2014.

22nd Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment located in Serunuwara under 222 Brigade of 22 Division in Security Forces (East) area Provided Man Power for the under construction Stupa project at Mahamevnawa Bhavana Asapuwa - Serunuwara on 29 July 2014 with the assistance of villages in the area.

222 Brigade troops under the 22 Division in Security Force (East) able to Control the Wild Fire in Habarana - Morakanda area on 29 July 2014 .

Commander Security Force (East) Major General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG visited 23 Division and addressed troops under command to Brigades and Battalions on 30 and 31 July 2014. He was welcomed by GOC 23 Division Brigadier A A Kodippili RSP.

Indian Defence attache Capt Prakash Gopalan visited the Eastern Province and Discussed the Present Situation and future Developments with the Security Force Commander (East) Maj Gen SAAL perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG at Security Force Headquarters (East) at Welikanda on 01st August 2014.

8th Sri Lanka National Guard located in Periyawadduwan under 232 Brigade of 23 Division in Security Forces (East) distributed Drinking Water for 31 x Families who were affected by the prevailing drought at Eralakkulam Village on 31st July 2014.
