17th Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion located in Kandakadu under 233 Brigade of 23 Division in Security Force (East) distributed dry ration packets and 05 ltr water bottles for selected poor families in Mutuwella, Kandakadu area on 21 Sep 2014. (Troops participated 03 x 06)

16th Sri Lanka National Guard located at Annamalei under 241 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Force (East) distributed school items and 05 ltr water bottles for 411 x families at Vijayapura, Dadayamthalawa at Uhana DS area in Ampara on 20th Sep 2014 with the sponsorship of Sahana Yathra Foundation of the Old Boys Association of Kandy Kingswood College. (Troops participated 08 x 20)

12th Sri Lanka National Guard located in Kanchanakuda under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Force (East) organized a shramadana campaign, in order to clean and clear the coastal area arround Murugan Kovil in Tirukkovil DS area to mark the "Inaternational Coastal Cleanup Day" on 20th Sep 2014. Army, Navy Coastal Guard troops and employees of Environmental Authority along with the students of the area participated in this campaign. (Troops participated 01 x 15)

12th Sri Lanka National Guard located in Kanchanakuda under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Force (East) organized a shramadana campaign to clean up the debris of a burnt house belongs to a poor civilian. (Troops participated 01 x 08)

23rd Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Force (East), organized an awareness lecture on wild elephant attacks to the students of grade 10 to 13 of Lahugala Maha Vidyalaya. The lecture was delivered by wild life officers of Lahugala. Army officials and teachers of the school were also participated for the lecture. (Troops participated 02 x 07)
