In a poignant ceremony held on 19 January 2024, Brigadier DP Jayasinghe RSP, a distinguished figure in the Sri Lanka Army, bid adieu to a stellar career spanning over 34 years from 17 February 1989. The event, attended by the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, was a testament to a lifetime of service and dedication.

The General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division, Major General DKSK Dolage USP psc made his first formal visit to the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering on 08 January 2024. The GOC was accorded a drive pass and welcomed by the School Commandant Colonel MKV Manoharan USP, on behalf of all officers and other ranks of SLSME.

Major General SA Kulatunga RWP RSP VSV USP psc relinquished duties as Commander Engineer division after completion of six month in the office and highest standard of farewell formalities given him by division including Guard turnout, a colorful guard of honour for outgoing GOC. Major General SA Kulatunga RWP RSP VSV USP psc addressed the division troops at Convention Hall at the Home of Sappers. During his address, he appreciated the contribution given by all ranks in his tenure. Furthermore, he mentioned that he will continue his assistance as a Chief Field Engineer to the Engr Division.

The Commander Security Forces Mullaitivu and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu made an official visit to the Home of Sappers – Mattegoda and inaugurated the newly constructed WO’s and Sgt’s Mess accommodation building at 5 Field Engineer Regiment on 23 December 2023. Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant visited to review the progress of the renovation of Sappers Cricket ground.

Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Regimental Headquarter hosted a farewell parade on 08 December 2023 for one of its proud Senior Officer, Brigadier DNC Serasinghe RSP USP, who retiring after a dedicated service of more than three decades. The day’s ceremony commenced with the customary Guard Turnout followed by a Ceremonial parade held at the Regimental Centre parade ground.
