The Commander, Logistics Command Major General SPIMB Samarakoon Hdmc,Lsc made a formal visit to the School of Agriculture & Livestock – Murukandi, Kilinochchi on 13 September 2023.The Commandant, School of Agriculture & Livestock Lieutenant Colonel DLCN Muththanthirige was welcomed the Commander, Logistics Command to the formal visit of School Agriculture & Livestock. During the Visit he was inspected ongoing agriculture courses conducted by School of Agriculture and Livestock & gave away proper guidance to uplift the standard of the School of Agriculture & Livestock and the importance of muster all tradesmen in the Regiment.

Director General Financial Management & Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP VSV USP paid a Final visit to the 4th Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock on 15 September 2023.
The Colonel Commandant was welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 4(V) SLACAL, Lieutenant Colonel MMDSK Bandara psc SLAC.He sapling a tree in the respective camp premises to remarkable his visit on 4(V) SLACAL.He also destributed working dresses to the agrarians who working in farms under-commanded by 4(V) SLACAL & gave away a tab to the Advanced Level student who was son of our SNCO. During his speech he explained how this Regiment was raised with bare minimum facilities & challenges of covid, fertiliser, fuel and the effort taken to develop last two years and support nations economy.Further he appreciated the service and contribution made by officers and men of 4(V) SLACAL and thanked all who made to uplift the unit and Regiment.

The Closing address of Promotion course(Corporal to Sergeant) was held on 18 August 2023 at School of Agriculture and Livestock(Kilinochchi).The Commandant,School of Agriculture & Livestock Lieutenant Colonel DLCN Muththanthirige was graced the occasion and conducted the Closing address for the course.There were 37 Corporals' representing all battalions of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock were participated for this promotion course around one month.

The Opening Address of Basic Agriculture Course-No.9 was held on 18 August 2023 at School of Agriculture & Livestock (Kilinochchi).The Commandant, School of Agriculture & Livestock Lieutenant Colonel DLCN Muththanthirige was graced the occasion and conducted the opening address for the course.The course curriculum included with Organic farming, crops cultivation, Food preservation, Machinery,Animal husbandry and value added animal feed products.2 officers and 33 other ranks were participated for this course and duration will be 1 month.

Lieutenant Colonel RWMRMN Rathnayake RSP psc IG SLA assumed duties as the 2nd Commanding Officer of the First Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock on 11 September 2023 at Headquaters of 1 SLACAL Amunukole, Nochchiyagama.He took over the duties from the Lieutenant Colonel HVKW Abeywickrama USP IG SLA.He also commanded 5(V) SLACAL for period of 5 months prior to the new appointment.

Officers Training Day of SLACAL(3rd Quarter of year 2023) was held on 01 September 2023 at Headquaters of 3(V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock,Kandakadu.Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP VSV USP was graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Chief of Staff of Office of Chief of Defense Staff & Council Member of SLACAL, Major General PPA Perera Hdmc psc,Centre Commandant of SLACAL,Brigadier KASK Siriwardana RWP RSP USP,Senior officers of SLACAL & Officers also attended with the Training Day programme.Training day commenced with series of physical training activities.
Further,1 SLACAL officers conducted the lecture regarding Profit Maximization through the Implementation of Effective Agro economical Strategies in Army Farms of SLACAL and the Guest lecturer ''CI'' WMCV Wijerathne delivered a lecture regarding the Civil Law.In the evening session conducted the lecture on Minmizing the Audit Observations on Public Funds by Major DDB Madumalaka from SLAGSC.During the Dinners' Club,Major General MP Karunarathne IG (Rtd) conducted the lecture regarding the Russia Ukraine War and how it is going to effect to Sri Lanka.The Training Day programme was terminated the Dinners' Club organized by 3(V) SLACAL.

The newly constructed other ranks accommodation building was opened on 05 August 2023 at Army Farm Iranamadu. The Director General Financial Management & Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP VSV USP was graced the occasion & opened the OR's accomondation & wash rooms.The Director Agriculture & Livestock Brigadier BN Madanayake RWP RSP,Centre Commandant of SLACAL, Brigadier KASK Siriwardana RWP RSP USP,Commanding officers, Senior Officers & officers of the Regimental Centre also participated at the event.This construction was done with the labour of former 6 SLACAL troops and officers.
