Officers Training Day of SLACAL was held under the guidance and supervision of the Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP VSV USP on 28 June 2023 at 4(V) SLACAL (Gajasinghepura).Director of Agriculture & Livestock Brigadier BN Madanayake RWP RSP was graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Training day commenced with series of physical training activities,The sword drill session and officers of SLACAL were actively participted for all these events.Further, 3(V) SLACAL officers conducted the lecture regarding Modern Farming Technology and the Guest lecturer Capt. MTN Jayathilake delivered a presentation regarding the Stress management and happy family life.Director of Agriculture & Livestock inspected ongoing chutney production conducted by 4(V) SLACAL.During the evening session conducted the lecture on Design for Change and Develop by the guest lecturer Dr.Bandara Karalliyadda.The Training Day Programme was terminated the Dinner's Club organized by 4(V) SLACAL.

Brigadier BN Madanayake RWP RSP assumed duties as the 5th Director of Agriculture & Livestock on 16 June 2023 at Directorate of Agriculture & Livestock Panagoda.He took over the duties from former Director of Agriculture & Livestock Brigadier AK Rajapaksa RSP.

Director General Financial Management & Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP VSV USP made a formal visit to the regimental centre of SLACAL on 07 June 2023.
The Colonel Commandant was welcomed by the Centre Commandant of SLACAL, Brigadier PRBA Bandara RSP.He was inspected ongoing agriculture projects and constructions carrried out by regimental centre.During the troops address he shared his thought about present challengers which were facing by soldiers and how to overcome those problems

Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock used the latest Drone Technology for the paddy fields of Army project Sri Jayawardenepura for the first time on 02 June 2023.The herbicides named "Loyant" was used to the paddy fields by the drones.This technology leads to minimize the man power and helps to kept one step forward in the mission carried out by the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock.This technology also use for large area fertilising in a minimum and effective as per pre-programmed sequence or manual controlling system to Increase efficiency and maximum for better harvest.

The Director General Financial Management & Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP VSV USP made a field visit to the Ridiyagama & Weerawila Army Farms on 27 May 2023.The Commanding Officer of 2(V) SLACAL Major JCK Subhasinghe was welcomed the Colonel Commandant to the field visit.The Centre Commandant of SLACAL,Brigadier PRBA Bandara RSP & Staff Officer l(Log),Lieutenant Colonel RT Ganegoda also joined with the field visit.
Colonel Commandant was inspected ongoing agriculture projects maintained by Ridiyagama & Weerawila.He was distributed necessary items required to the troops.During the troops address he appreciated the efforts taken by Commanding Officer,Farm Officer Commanding and the NCO's and given away the guidance and instructions to the vast development of this farms.

The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Brigadier PRBA Bandara RSP made a field visit to the Manikpalama and Dayagama Army farms on 12 & 13 of May 2023.The Commanding Officer of 1 SLACAL,Lieutenant Colonel HVKW Abeywickrama USP IG was welcomed the Centre Commandant to the field visit.During the visit he inspected ongoing agricultural projects of both farms and express his thoughts on more development of the army farms.Staff Officer l (Log) Lieutenant Colonel RT Ganegoda also participated for this field visit.

The Sri Lanka Army Coprs of Agriculture and Livestock displayed Vesak Lanterns at "Bauddhaloka Mawatha",Colombo on 05 May 2023 with the collective efforts of All battalions in SLACAL.Moreover the Regimental Centre at SLACAL lit up Vesak Lanters in the camp premises.
