The newly constructed Officer's Accomodation for the need of the officers of 6 SLACAL was inaugurated under the battalion development strategy plan.
It was opened in a simple ceremony by Lt Col ASB Hapuwinna , Commanding Officer 6 SLACAL , on 01 December 2022.
The opening event was attended by all Officers and Other Ranks of 6 SLACAL.

In the wake of an arduous endeavour, the School of Agriculture, the utmost Training Establishment where agrarians are groomed under varied streams of specialized agriculture courses for taking over their obligations of duties on the establishment behalf, leaped a remarkable step obtaining the course accreditation at the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka for the Spiritual Bio Dynamic Traditional Agriculture Field Assistant Course after approved the registration of the School of Agriculture and Livestock under the gazette notification No.887/8 dated 7th September 1995 by the Vocational Education Commission(TVEC).
Accordingly, the Spiritual Bio Dynamic Traditional Agriculture Field Assistant Course conduct in the School of Agriculture will receive National Vocational Qualification which is a unified qualification framework and recognized nationally and internationally. The NVQs are based on National Competency Standards identified by the industry stakeholders. This framework has been achieved by the School of Agriculture integrating technical/ vocational and higher education in consequence to a great effort of Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP- Director Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier Arosha Rajapaksha RSP
along with – the Commandant of the School of Agriculture Leiutent Colonel DLCN Muththanthirige -SLACAL.
In the future, arrangements will be made to obtain these internationally and nationally(NVQ Levels) accreditation & recognized professional qualifications for all other courses conducted by the School of Agriculture -Kilinochchi.

Developing constructions of the recently established Army farm Pangolla keeping another step forward by 1 SLACAL and to uplift the welfare of the Officers and Other Ranks who are working at Army farm Pangolla as per the instructions of the Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP the Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, the laying of foundation stone for new Prefabricated building (40'x20') at Army Farm Pangolla by Leiutent Colonel HVKW Abeywicrama USP IG SLA was held on 25th November 2022.
The ceremony was held adhering to health regulations and guidelines with the participation of Pangolla Army Farm Officer Commanding Capt HGJP Kumara SLACAL and all the troops of the farm.

Certificate awarding ceremony of Advance Agriculture course, Advance Livestock course and Bee keeping workshop was held on 20th October 2022 at School of Agriculture and Livestock Kilinochchi.
The *Commandant School of Agriculture and Livestock Lt Col DLCN Muththanthirige SLACAL* graced the occasion as the chief guest. A batch of 63 Other Ranks from various Battalions of SLACAL successfully completed the course and received their certificates.Commandant highlighted the importancy of following this courses and this is a benchmark for achieving the highest goals in Agriculture & Livestocks as well as benefited for the future career of all the Officers and ORs of the Corps during his speech.

It has been planned to conduct Livestock Specialized course in near future in order to uplift and enhance the Agriculture and Livestock knowledge of the Officers and Other Ranks in the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.
