Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army visited the Security Force Headquarters-East area on 27th January 2014. Initially he visited Security Force Headquarters-East at Welikanda, Where he was received by Major General Lal Perera, Commander, Security Force East. A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour was presented by Security Force Headquarters-East troops to the Commander of the Army at Security Force Headquarters-East Welikanda. A Tree planting & Group Photograph also taken place at Force Headquarters-East premises.

18th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located in Kaladi under 232 Brigade of 23 Division in Security Forces (East) area, has organized a Kovil Pooja at Kurukkalmadam Kovil to celebrate Thai Pongal on 14 January 2014. Several Military and Civil dignitaries participated for the occasion.

23rd Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located in Komari under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Forces (East) area, organized a "Shramadhana Campaign" to clean in and surrounding of Panama Hospital area in Lahugala on 15 January 2014 with the participation of the hospital staff and Military personnel.

3rd Sri Lanka National Guard under 233 Brigade of 23 Division located in Vakarai under Security Forces (East). organized a Shramadana campaign to clean at Sallathivu Beach in Panichchankeni on 24 January 2014. Several Military and Civil dignitaries participated for the occasion.

8th Sri Lanka National Guard under 232 Brigade of 23 Division located in Periyawadduwan under Security Forces (East). Organized a Shramadana Campaign to reconstruct the road from Pulipanchikal to Kiran in Koraleipattu area on 21 January 2014 .

27th Sri Lanka National Guard located in Ichalanpathu under 222 Brigade of 22 Division in Security Forces (East) organized a free hair cutting service for students of at T/Vinayagar school in Pumaraththadichenai on 24 January 2014.

12th Sri Lanka National Guard stationed in Komari under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Forces (East) area, organized an Employment opportunity programme in the packaging industry with the assistance of The JS Bimsara JOB NET (pvt) Limited in Kurunegala for the benefit of unemployed youth in Thirukkovil area. 63 x youth participated for the interview held at Thirukkovil Kalyanthivu Tamil School on 12th January 2014 and 51 people were selected from the interview.

With an aim to reduce the Human Elephant Conflict, 3rd Sri Lanka women corps under Security Forces (East). Organized an awareness program for Villagers of Dimbulagala regarding Preventive Measures of Human Elephant at Yakkure public hall with the assistance of Forest Officers in the area on 23 January 2014.

Minister of State for Defence of Republic of Uganda Hon Gen (Retd) Odongo JEJE visited Eastern Province on 30th January 2014. Initially Hon Gen (Retd) OdongoJEJE attended for a briefing regarding the development of the Eastern Province conducted by the Security Force Head Quarters( East) and had the tea with the Commander of Security Force (East) at "HOTEL ANILANA" in Pasikuda.

27th Sri Lanka National Guard located in Ichalanpathu under 222 Brigade of 22 Division in Security Forces (East) organized a "Shramadhana Campaign" to clear the surrounding of Ichalampatthu Hospital &Tree planting programme on 03rd February 2014 .
