24 Division basketball team became the champions of the Inter-Division Basketball Tournament 2018 of the Security Force Headquarters – East beating their rival, 22 Division by 77 - 45 points as the finals drew to the closure at the basketball courts of Vipulananda Vidyalaya, Karaitiv amidst a large gathering of sports lovers and supporters on Thursday (28).

Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) extended its best assistance to the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat in conducting the provincial commemoration of the 71st Independence Day at Royal College grounds, Polonnaruwa.
The ceremony commenced with hoisting the national flag, by the Chief Guest of the occasion, the Governor of North Central Province, Mr. Sarath Ekanayaka. Students at Polonnaruwa Royal College afterwards recited Jayamangala and Devo Vassatu Kalena stanzas and invoked blessings on the Nation. A two-minute silence was also observed in memory of all patriots who scarified their lives for the Motherland.

As the festive season unfolds with forthcoming phenomenal Christmas, the Security Force (East) contributing its share, held the 'Christmas Angelic Eve - 2018', the Annual Christmas Carols on Wednesday (19) at Gandhi Park, BATTICALOA before a distinguished gathering, including the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Aruna Jayasekara as the Chief Guest. This glamorous event was organized by 231 Brigade in conjunction with the Christian community of BATTICALOA, with the supervision of 23 Division and the Security Force Headquarters (East).
